Craps

words oh so true

Spread the love

A while ago i was playng at a casino out of town, for those of you who have played with me know that one thing is constant i almost always no the crew to the shift managerand it is just me i love to talk to people and they talk to m

The first night there me and my partner where playing the shift boss was on break on his way back he stops at the end of the table my partner is shooting he looks then shakes his head lowering it in total discust goes to the box and say make them hit the wall and keep the speed up now mind you we are the only two on the table, he is such a rule freak no wonder he is a reserve sheriff!

We made a little colored up and left.

Now the next night was a whole nother thing i was by myslef and the boss was sitting box i got it going i mean i got it going

I never once missed the wall all he could do is site there and watch as my bets went up and up, and the rack went from green to black alot of black, it was so cool to see his face he knew i had it going.

After the hand i caught him walking away and asked why worry about us so we know the rules hit the wall and tip the crew, all we want is to have fun loss money our way which funds your job, everyone knows this doesn’t work, his responce ( oh it works if you practice enuff the thing is most do not do that but there is you few.

This is how it works we practice and practice, get help from everyone we can ,classes the website and so on, it takes years for us to get this down we learn to bet proper so as to optimise our time at the Table and then on night it happens.

I know many who are ahead at this game it has ups and downs but if you put in the time good things will happen for you!

May everyone out there have that night where it all works and they let you do it even though they no you have taken their advantage away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I felt like that today at the table in Vegas I seem to like.

Up to now this trip I was working on some changes that Skinny suggested for something I am seeing.

First few sessions have been not the best with one dealer asking where did you learn that as it just doesn’t work. This has been at a table suggested by Clark. Nice people and nice table.

Later today, went back to across from class and with no one at the table, a lady stick and a box man right there after the first throw I did a whole bunch better, not great but better. All the while I felt I was being intently watched. In some ways even I felt the watching I started to smile internally.

We will see what the next two days bring.

I take to heart your feelings!

You two guys are right on with your points. It does take practice.

Sometimes when they are watching me I smile as well and say to myself, "Go ahead and watch a artist paint his master piece."

Whenever they tell me that stuff does not work I have a pat answer for them.

I agree and say I know it does not work. Nothing works because you guys always win in the end. But it makes me look like I know what I am doing and I just want to look good while I am losing my money.

They laugh and agree that the casino always wins. After that they usually leave me alone.

I believe that gtc should try to find someone to do a article for tv and base it on the fact if this does not work why do you pay us so much attention, i mean why all the fuse if this is a waste of time then let us have our fun.

Why do you not jsut leave us alone, why do you make up special rules for us like hit the wall harder, no setting the dice, or my favorite one you can no longer play here!

I think it is crazy too. There are a lot more out there that just fling them . I like it when they take some much time to set the dice then shake them and roll them so hard that they land in the middle of PROP BETS.
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Versus last night and this morning two guys in two different places threw them so high that when they bounced on a dead table they bounced right off the table!

Dom – I like that, I’ll smile more and not say anything, and they will probably wonder what I am up to!!!

Like Skinny, Rose and I have a good answer. We simply say something like "we read it in a book but we probably paid too much for the stupid book." They laugh, we laugh and they usually leave us alone for we are usually the only ones tipping the dealers. We find that most box men/women like for the players to take care of the dealers with small bets.

By the way if you have never been on the other side making the payoffs it is darn hard work. We may know what the payoffs are on the bets we make, but paying off the bets from the middle can be a pain. Frankly we don’t even know all of the prop pay offs by heart. We don’t need to, since we don’t make these bets.

I’ve never understood why they get their panties all in a twist over us. We shill for them by seeking out an empty table. If we get on a good roll you know it won’t stay empty for long. Then we color up and fade into the background while everyone else tries to catch lightening in a bottle again.

Reminds me of when I first learned about counting cards. I lost lots of money all the while thinking I knew what I was doing. I’m sure most of the students from other schools (and 90% of GTC students according to Dom) never make it to "earner" status. Sound to me like there are a lot of people out there just begging to be separated from their money.

I could never understand how anyone could say, "I went to the casino tonight and lost, but I had a great time!"

What … losing money is a great time! Not for me.

My sister is one those Dom. "Oh, I had a great time talking to Dealer Dan, it was a lot of fun". Sis, you were up $3K and then lost it all plus dug into your purse for another $2K. That’s $5K I saw move through your hands…….what sort of fun was that? "Conversation with Dealer Dan."

Then talk to the guy….that’s free!

When we are in Vegas I always say, "I read a book. It can’t hurt because I don’t usually win anyway."

When in AC, where they know and appreciate us, it isn’t necessary. They know all about GTC. When I’m on a long roll, someone will invariably say, "She’s in her zone!" When we have losing streaks, they tell us to go to Pai Gow and come back later, and we all laugh as we do leave.

They love us because most people don’t tip, and we tip win or lose. On long rolls, the tips increase. They always ask when will we return. It’s like a family. They always come up to Sandtrap and ask how he is doing. If I am down early, they want to know where he is. It’s a very nice feeling to have a "home" casino where we are comfortable and welcomed.

Dom, I think that mind set holds true for many vacationers to the Casino cities. For visitors to Las Vagas their expectation is the same as their children going to Six Flags. They have no realistic expectation of doing anything other than spending money and having fun. Vagas is time away from the normal drudge and if there was a big bucket at the end of the Jetway with a sign saying "Put all your cash here", making their stay All inclusive, they would be all in.

We on the other hand go there with a different attitude, sure it’s time away from the drudge, but we expect to win and we get angry if we don’t.

Dom My friends that I meet in Vegas had a great time they spent 2 rolls of quarters on the slots and had a great time during their 2 day stay. To each their own I guess.
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

I know someone like that … $20 on slots win or lose, but they love to watch me shoot the bones!
