However, if you want to buy the five and nine, it must be in an even amount where the vig is collected on Wins only. Then you are better off buying it rather than placing it. The problem is 99% of the casinos in the United States that I have visited collect the vig upfront and on the wins Which makes it a terrible back.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Would guess they just don’t allow it but never hurts to ask if you want to use it. Like Midnight, I think the most reasonable way is through the Come box to get on those numbers.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\tWhile we are on the subject of buying numbers, to the best of our memory, in Atlantic City you can buy the 4 and 10 for $35 but the vig is paid up front but not on a win only. But for $35 it is supposed to be a decent wager but not as good as going through the come line and taking odds. <\/p>\n
\tHowever we are 98% come betters.<\/p>\n

\tI don’t claim to be a math expert in computing the various house vigs on different bets, but I do have complete faith in what the people on the message board have to say. They much more knowledgeable about this information. I think we both agree that buying the 4 an 10 for $25 with the vig of $1 with the $1 paid on wins only is a good bet. It is close to placing the 6 and 8. Buying the 5 and 9 for $1 (paid on wins only) for $35 is a good bet but to my knowledge it is available only in Tunica. See Skinny’s post about buying the 5 and 9 as mentions in his post. Think it will answer most of your questions.<\/p>\n

\tCommission of $1, HA would be 1.33%<\/p>\n
\tH\/A on the place bet of the 6\/8 = 1.5% <\/p>\n
\tBuy the 5\/9 is a better bet!<\/p>\n
\tBuy 4\/10 for $30 with Commission paid on WIN only<\/p>\n
\tCommission of $1 (almost every casino I know will let you buy the 4\/10 for $30 for a $1 commission) = 1.33%<\/p>\n
\tAgain a BETTER bet than placing the 6\/8<\/p>\n
\tConclusion:<\/p>\n
\tA buy bet on the 5\/9 or 4\/10 when the commission is paid after a win is a better than than placing the 6\/8. Buy bets and comebets with odds are the best bets you can make. I guess Billy, Daryl, and I need to think of a better way to say all this at our seminars so everyone understands.<\/p>\n

\n\tHuge HA, right? Let\u2019s compare a $10 Put Bet and $1000 odds with a $1010 Place\/Buy bet.
\n\t– 4\/10 pays $2010 on the Put, pays $1,919 on the Buy.
\n\t– 5\/9 pays $1510 on the Put, pays $1414 on the Place.
\n\t– 6\/8 pays $1210 on the Put, pays $1178 on the Place.
\n\tNow, when the bets are $8000 to $10,000, you can see the Put Bet can pay $1000 more than a Place\/Buy bet. Technically, a Put Bet gets better than a Place bet when you have 20x odds or better.<\/p>\n
\tIf you do this, you will need to keep a Come Bet going, and increase the Come Bet if you\u2019re odds bet exceeds the casino limit for your current Come Bet. In this scenario, the Put Bet is temporary until your Come Bet moves up. Otherwise, you will have to replace the Put Bet when that number is rolled, in order to keep your odds bet going.<\/p>\n
\tAgain, this is only worth doing if you or your friends are betting thousands of dollars in 20x odds or higher. Otherwise, I wouldn\u2019t recommend it.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
