\nI like to play stick right typically on a 12-foot table. Assuming stickman stands at the 6ft mark; I should be launching from the 7 and half to 8 foot mark into my practice rig? Does this sound about right?<\/p>\n

Yes, that’s in the general range. You might even move further from the center point just to be ready for when the Box Critter says your extending over the center and to move<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Here is what Rose and Doc use.<\/p>\n

\tA 12 foot table is 144 inches long. The middle of the table is 72 inches—the middle of the stick man and the hard way bets. We add another 18 inches to allow for a stickman\/woman (who can be kinda of heavy) so when added to the 72 inches we have 90 inches or 7 1\/2 feet. This confirms the distance you had suggested in your post. For SL 2 ( or SR 2) we add an additional 12 inches. <\/p>\n

\tTo practice for a 14 foot table we add the same 12 inches to the 90 inches above or 102 inches.<\/p>\n

\tThese measurements will get you very close to the distance you need and allow for you to be comfortable and not feel crowded. <\/p>\n

All that was said has been good advice as far as a ball park measurement. There is something that I tell every student to do though and I did with mine many years ago …. <\/p>\n

\tNext time you go to your casino or any casino, go to a closed table and eye ball your heal against the back wall and step off heal to toe to SR1 and so on. Make a not and then use that measurement at home on your rig. Depending on the manufacturer of the casino’s table a 12 foot could actually be 11.5 feet inside or even 12.5. <\/p>\n

\tWhat everyone said is a good rule of thumb, but take the time to step it off<\/p>\n
