What I do is throw and see what is happening. If something is not there I will work on that in particular. One thing that is happening with me that was evident in the Video Elite I did was I was going inside by body on my backswing from SR. I have been working on that for awhile now.

Another thing I do is to buy into a game and try to double my buy in.

Dominator

Posted by: Preacher on July 7, 2017, 4:24 pm

I have my throwing and receiving station set up next to my kitchen table, with a craps layout on the kitchen table. I practice throwing for 15 minutes, longer if my throws show a problem. Then I give myself $1000 total in chips, $1, $5, $20, and $100. I use a $15 minimum on the table. Still using the throwing and receiving station, I then do at least 3 hands, often more, taking down and putting up bets the same as I would experience in a casino. At the end, I count my chips to see how my wagers did.

I vary my buy-in, too, to see what odds amounts work within my budget.

I have found that having to stop to put up and take down bets better prepares me for the rhythm at a casino. It also makes my practice sessions more interesting. And, practicing in the kitchen allows interruptions by my family, which prepares me for dealing with the distractions in a casino.

Also, if I want to test a betting strategy for random shooters (as in, while I wait to get the dice in the casino), I ask my wife to come throw the dice for awhile. Inevitably, she destroys every betting strategy I try. This helps me stick with the 5 count, pass line bets and come bets.

Posted by: OneMoonCircles on July 8, 2017, 6:09 am

Since I track nearly every nuance possible I see problems rather quickly. Unfortunately lately I have been practicing very little and playing much less than in the past so many
problems are coming up. I hope to rectify this sooner than later. When I practice infrequently I tend to see many more double pitches than normal with about 50% being
7 outs.

Lately I have been throwing a lot of crap numbers on the comeout. The left die tends to turn over left to right but a hedge bet of $1 on craps keeps me in the game. My favorite table has a $3 min on pass so hop the 7’s and $1 craps helps a little. I am tossing a 7 on average every other throw on the comeout. My calculations show a 51+%
7 on the comeout over the long haul. I do set for the 7 on the comeout. Two or 3 7’s in a row are not all that uncommon for me both in practice and at the casino. Also lately I have made very little money so I am going to try to bet more in practice and see if that might bring in better profits and if that does happen I will try it in a casino.

Practice is absolutely mandatory.

OneMoonCircles

Posted by: Dominator on July 8, 2017, 12:28 pm

Preacher

I love the idea of the wife throwing as a random roller!

Dom

Posted by: Admin on July 8, 2017, 4:57 pm

That sounds like a great setup @Preacher’s house, and I love the way your practicing for real time not just up there working the throw but working the table. I think one has to have a consistent practice routine to be able to judge improvements. Mine happens to be 120 rolls.
I breakdown the info after practice which takes about 20 minutes extra time. I also track the numbers of the first 4 rolls after a come out. Now I am closing in on
130,000 documented practice rolls. The effort seems like it is worth it.

If not this fall then next spring seems a tune up is in order.

OMC

I’ve always read on this forum that you should ‘practice, practice, ..’.
