The last time I played there it was really smoky and the players had no clue.
They remodeled the place and that included new table layouts. They are a bright inviting color scheme and the felt was soft to the touch. I threw the dice in my high lob fashion that I use on my practice rig and both dice bounced over the back wall. One landing in the rail and the other cleared the railing and landed on the floor. Since it was the first toss I didn’t ask for the same dice. Sure enough the next roll was a seven, good thing it was the come out.

The air was clear, not smoky at all and the players actually didn’t throw in chips whenever. The first time someone tried, the dealer yelled "no bet" and the chip was returned. That was nice, I didn’t have to worry about flying chips during the toss. My first roll lasted about ten tosses and I lost a little. My second roll went about 15 and I made a little. My third roll was the best, made only two points but I nailed thirteen hits and a few of them were pressed.
I was very good on using the five count and that save me a bundle. Three shooters were dice chuckers and never made it past the five count, two other shooters pretended to set the dice and threw them in the mixing bowl. One shooter actually had a nice soft toss and looked like he knew what he was doing, he made it past the five count once.

I bought in for $300 and left with $878. The dealers really liked me because I was the only one tipping. Using the GT method of adding an extra $1 to my pass line bet and a second $1 bet for crew. One dealer commented they he’s never seen anyone do that before.

When I left the box man invited me back.

I had fun and since I’ve seem to have figured out the table, I’ll go back.

Replies:

Posted by: Dr Crapology on November 7, 2016, 12:30 pm

Rich, a nice report. Glad to see that you are using principles on betting that we teach in the class. Yes it does work and you will win money in the long run. However if you are having one of those bad days (we all have them from time to time) conservative betting and using the 5 count you can save you a bundle. You were abel to do both—win money and save money on chicken feeders. Well written and an excellent read.

After seeing the dice go off the table, may we assume you lowered your dice a little so they would not bounce off the table and you would have more control?

Thanks for the trip report.

Rose and Doc

Posted by: RFink13 on November 8, 2016, 5:38 am

Correct, I lowered the arc, landed the dice further from the wall and softened up the toss a tad. Even with a soft toss the dice seemed to bounce all over the place.

Posted by: brothelman on November 8, 2016, 6:03 am

Okay lets think about this landing the dice further from the wall on a flatter trajectory
would make the dice hit the point of the ;pyramids not the flat under side making them split and do all kinds of random things.

Your objection is to hit the under part the =flat part so the dice have a chance to bounce straight down in unison correct.

So in order to accomplish this you must land closer to the wall with a flatter throwing plane as to give the dice the angle of approach to the wall that they need.

Not only will you have to land closer you will have to increase the revs to make up for the extra energy needed to get the dice to the closer point of landing.

Just give it some thought I believe that you will see what I am saying

Posted by: The WoW Man on November 8, 2016, 3:44 pm

Brothelman to the rescue.
