\nTo my dear GTC family: Both Sandtrap and I are again in need of your prayers. I have been having episodes of lightheadedness, vertigo, disorientation, and severe headaches. A regular EEG, a brain MRI, and a 72 hour EEG were all normal for my age. On Monday I am having a spinal tap to see if there are any leukemia cells in the spinal fluid. According to the oncologist, this can happen to people who have had aggressive chemo, as I did, albeit rarely. However, the test has to be done due to my symptoms to rule out the leukemia.<\/p>\n

\tSandtrap has been having difficulty controlling his heart failure. Even with fluid restriction and no salt, he has gained several pounds of fluid, is more short of breath, more tired, and less able to walk any distance. Today, he spent several hours in the hospital heart failure clinic to have labs drawn and receive 2 hours of IV diuretic. His oral diuretic was increased again. He will return next Wed. to see how he is doing. Unfortunately, his body does not tolerate any of the nice new heart medications, which would make the heart stronger and more efficient. Several have been tried, and his blood pressure plummets immediately.<\/p>\n

\tYour prayers have brought us both through previously, and I am hoping they will again. All our friends say we are medical miracles, and it would be nice to have these problems resolved.<\/p>\n

Thank you everyone for all your prayers. Two lab tests, a flow cytometry and NPM1 showed that I do not have any leukemia cells, and so I did not have to have the spinal tap. I will see my neurologist next week, after his vacation, regarding my severe headaches. Please keep the prayers going for Sandtrap, who has again gained weight, is more short of breath, and has swelling of his feet. He goes to the heart failure clinic tomorrow.<\/p>\n
