{"id":9339,"date":"2016-02-24T04:53:25","date_gmt":"2016-02-24T04:53:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumarchives.tmsites.net\/index.php\/2016\/02\/24\/thomas-jefferson-3\/"},"modified":"2016-02-24T04:53:25","modified_gmt":"2016-02-24T04:53:25","slug":"thomas-jefferson-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumarchives.tmsites.net\/index.php\/2016\/02\/24\/thomas-jefferson-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Thomas Jefferson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- Original Post Content --><br \/>\nHis Portrait is on the Two $2.00<br \/>\n\tDollar Bill. <\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"color: #0000BF\">This is amazing.<br \/>\n\tThere are two parts. <br \/>\n\tBe sure to read<br \/>\n\tthe 2nd part (in RED ). <\/p>\n<p>\n\tThomas Jefferson<br \/>\n\twas a very remarkable man who started  <br \/>\n\tlearning very<br \/>\n\tearly in life and never stopped. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 5, began<br \/>\n\tstudying under his cousin&#8217;s tutor. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 9, studied<br \/>\n\tLatin, Greek and French. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 14, studied<br \/>\n\tclassical literature and additional languages. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 16, entered<br \/>\n\tthe College of William and Mary.<br \/>\n\tAlso could write in Greek with one hand <br \/>\n\twhile writing the same in Latin with the other. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 19, studied<br \/>\n\tLaw for 5 years starting under George Wythe. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 23, started<br \/>\n\this own law practice. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 25, was<br \/>\n\telected to the Virginia House of Burgesses. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 31, wrote the<br \/>\n\twidely circulated &quot;Summary View of the Rights of British America &quot; And retired from his law practice.<\/p>\n<p>\tAt 32, was a<br \/>\n\tdelegate to the Second Continental Congress. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 33, wrote the<br \/>\n\tDeclaration of Independence . <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 33, took<br \/>\n\tthree years to revise Virginia &#8216;s legal code and wrote a Public Education bill and a statute for Religious Freedom. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 36, was<br \/>\n\telected the second Governor of Virginia succeeding Patrick <br \/>\n\tHenry. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 40, served in<br \/>\n\tCongress for two years. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 41, was the<br \/>\n\tAmerican minister to France and<br \/>\n\tnegotiated commercial treaties with <br \/>\n\tEuropean nations <br \/>\n\talong with Ben Franklin and John Adams.. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 46, served as<br \/>\n\tthe first Secretary of State<br \/>\n\tunder George Washington. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 53, served as<br \/>\n\tVice President and was elected<br \/>\n\tpresident of the American Philosophical Society. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 55, drafted<br \/>\n\tthe Kentucky Resolutions and<br \/>\n\tbecame the active head of Republican Party. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 57, was<br \/>\n\telected the third president of the<br \/>\n\tUnited States. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 60, obtained<br \/>\n\tthe Louisiana Purchase doubling<br \/>\n\tthe nation&#8217;s size. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 61, was<br \/>\n\telected to a second term as President. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 65, retired<br \/>\n\tto Monticello .. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 80, helped<br \/>\n\tPresident Monroe shape the <br \/>\n\tMonroe Doctrine. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 81, almost<br \/>\n\tsingle-handedly created the University of Virginia and served as its first president. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt 83, died on<br \/>\n\tthe 50th anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence along with John Adams. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tThomas Jefferson<br \/>\n\tknew because he himself studied the previous failed attempts at government. <br \/>\n\tHe understood<br \/>\n\tactual history, the nature of God, His laws and the nature <br \/>\n\tof man. That happens to be way more than what most understand today. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tJefferson really knew his stuff. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tA voice from the<br \/>\n\tpast to lead us in the future: <\/p>\n<p>\n\tJohn F. Kennedy<br \/>\n\theld a dinner in the White House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at that time.
