\n\tSometimes it does take a rocket scientist!<\/p>\n
\tScientists at NASA built a gun specifically to launch standard 4 pound
\n\tDead chickens at the windshields of airliners, military jets and the space
\n\tShuttle, all traveling at maximum velocity. The idea is to simulate the
\n\tFrequent incidents of collisions with airborne fowl to test the strength of
\n\tThe windshields.<\/p>\n
\tBritish engineers heard about the gun and were eager to test it on the
\n\tWindshields of their new high speed trains. Arrangements were made, and
\n\tA gun was sent to the British engineers.<\/p>\n
\tWHEN THE GUN WAS FIRED, THE ENGINEERS STOOD SHOCKED AS THE CHICKEN
\n\tHURLED OUT OF THE BARREL, CRASHED INTO THE SHATTERPROOF SHIELD,
\n\tSMASHED IT TO SMITHEREENS, BLASTED THROUGH THE CONTROL CONSOLE,
\n\tSNAPPED THE ENGINEER’S BACK-REST IN TWO, AND EMBEDDED ITSELF IN THE
\n\tBACK WALL OF THE CABIN, LIKE AN ARROW SHOT FROM A BOW.<\/p>\n
\tTHE HORRIFIED BRITS SENT NASA THE DISASTROUS RESULTS OF THE
\n\tEXPERIMENT, ALONG WITH THE DESIGNS OF THE WINDSHIELD AND BEGGED THE
\n\tU.S. SCIENTISTS FOR SUGGESTIONS.<\/p>\n
