\tA principal behind the card-counting exploits of college students that was outlined in a book and movie will be the keynote speaker later this month at the gaming industry\u2019s largest trade show and conference in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
\tProducers of the Global Gaming Expo said Jeffrey Ma will address analytics, innovation, and the power of data when speaks in the conference\u2019s opening session on Sept. 29 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.<\/p>\n
\tMa led a team of Massachusetts Institute of Technology students who took casinos for millions of dollars by counting cards at blackjack during the 1990s. The adventures inspired the book \u201cBringing Down the House,\u201d and the movie, \u201c21,\u201d which was based on the book.<\/p>\n
\tMa has since become an expert in business analytics and d\u2014ata, which he will connect to his experiences at the blackjack table during his G2E address. Ma has founded four companies that have been purchased by major corporations, most recently tenXer, an analytics tool designed to optimize employee performance that was recently acquired by Twitter.<\/p>\n
\t\u201cHis insight into how to effectively utilize technology as a competitive advantage will be invaluable information to the attendees of G2E,\u201d said Ed Several, senior vice president of Reed Exhibitions, which is co-producing G2E with the American Gaming Association.<\/p>\n
\tG2E organizers said Rahul Sood, CEO of Unikrn a Seattle-based gaming company focused on eSports, will speak at G2E Oct. 1.<\/p>\n
\tPrior to Ma\u2019s presentation, AGA CEO Geoff Freeman will deliver the annual \u201cState of Gaming Address.\u201d<\/p>\n
\tG2E, which is closed to the public, runs, Sept. 28 to Oct. 1. The conference annually host discussions on key gaming industry issues while the trade show displays the newest gaming products.<\/p>\n
