D., Ohio State University, 2009) specializes<br \/>\n\tin the social and cultural history of Renaissance<br \/>\n\tItaly, with a particular focus on popular culture in Papal<br \/>\n\tRome. He has written several articles on diverse topics<br \/>\n\tthat include the role of public opinion on the conclave<br \/>\n\tand papal election; rumors and the pope\u2019s death; and<br \/>\n\tcarriages and violence. He currently is revising his manuscript,<br \/>\n\t\u201cViolence and the Vacant See in Early Modern<br \/>\n\tRome,\u201d for publication in late 2015. Future projects will<br \/>\n\tfocus on the culture of gambling in Papal Rome.
