The contents of the  museum were sold at a public auction.<\/p>\n<p>\tRoy Rogers told his son,  if the museum ever operates at a loss, Close it And sell the  contents. He complied.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNote the follow-on  article truly the end of an era. Here is a partial  listing of some of the items that were sold at  auction&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRoy &#8216;s 1964 Bonneville  sold for $254,500, it was estimated to Sell between 100  and 150 thousand dollars.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i62.tinypic.com\/2vcyl2e.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n\tHis script book from the  January 14,1953 episode of  This Is Your Life sold  for $10,000 (EST. $800-$1,000).<\/p>\n<p>\tA collection of signed  baseballs ( Pete Rose, Duke Snyder and     <br \/>\n\tOther greats) sold for  $3,750.<\/p>\n<p>\tA collection of signed  bats (Yogi Berra, Enos Slaughter,<br \/>\n\tBob Feller, and others)  sold for $2,750.<\/p>\n<p>\tTrigger &#8216;s saddle and  bridle sold for $386,500 (EST. 100-150 K).<\/p>\n<p>\tOne of many of Roy &#8216;s  shirts sold for $16,250 and one of his many<br \/>\n\tCowboy hats sold for  $17,500.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i60.tinypic.com\/m7qj5y.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\tOne set of boot  spurs sold for $10,625.<br \/>\n\t(He never used a set of  spurs on Trigger).<\/p>\n<p>\tA life size shooting  gallery sold for $27,500.<\/p>\n<p>\tVarious chandeliers sold  from $6,875 to $20,000.<\/p>\n<p>\tVery unique and artistic  in their western style.<\/p>\n<p>\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i59.tinypic.com\/24dmuxh.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\tRoy &#8216;s first  Boots<\/p>\n<p>\tA signed photograph by Don Larsen taken during his<br \/>\n\tPerfect game in the world series against The Dodgers<br \/>\n\tOn Oct. 8, 1953, along  with a signed baseball to Roy from Don,<br \/>\n\tSold for  $2,500.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i60.tinypic.com\/keb195.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\tTwo fabulous limited  edition BB guns in their<br \/>\n\tOriginal boxes with  Numerous photos of Roy, Dale,<br \/>\n\tGabby, and Pat sold for  $3,750.<\/p>\n<p>\tA collection of  memorabilia from his shows entertaining<br \/>\n\tThe troops in Vietnam  sold for $938. <br \/>\n\tI never knew he was there. <\/p>\n<p>\tHis flight  jacket sold for $7,500.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i57.tinypic.com\/2ldukg0.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\tHis set of dinner ware plates and silverware sold for $11,875.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe Bible they used at  the dinner table every night sold for $8,750.<\/p>\n<p>\tOne of several of his  guitars sold for $27,500.<\/p>\n<p>\tNellybelle sold for  $116,500.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i59.tinypic.com\/wbbafd.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i57.tinypic.com\/4imxb9.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\tA fabulous painting  of Roy , Dale, Pat , Buttermilk, Trigger,<br \/>\n\tAnd Bullet sold for  $10,625.<\/p>\n<p>\tOne of several sets of  movie posters sold for $18,750.<\/p>\n<p>\tA black and white  photograph of Gene Autry with a touching<br \/>\n\tInscription From Gene to Roy sold for $17,500.<\/p>\n<p>\tA Republic Productions  Poster bearing many autographs of the <br \/>\n\tPeople that played  in Roy &#8216;s movies sold for $11,875.<\/p>\n<p>\tDale &#8216;s horse,  Buttermilk (whose history is very interesting)  sold<br \/>\n\tBelow The presale estimate for $25,000. (EST. 30-40 K).<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i62.tinypic.com\/oe71z.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\tBullet sold for $35,000  (EST. 10-15 K). He was their real pet.<\/p>\n<p>\tDale &#8216;s parade saddle,  estimated to sell between 20-30 K,<br \/>\n\tSold for  $104,500.<\/p>\n<p>\tOne of many pairs of Roy&#8217;s boots sold for $21,250.<\/p>\n<p>\tTrigger sold for  $266,500.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i61.tinypic.com\/2qv5o1z.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n\tDo you remember the  1938 movie The Adventures of Robinhood, <br \/>\n\tWith Errol Flynn  and Olivia de Havilland?<br \/>\n\tWell Olivia rode Trigger  in that movie.<\/p>\n<p>\tTrigger was bred on a  farm co-owned by Bing Crosby. <br \/>\n\tRoy bought Trigger on a time  payment plan for $2,500.<\/p>\n<p>\tRoy and Trigger made 188  movies together.<\/p>\n<p>\tTrigger even out did Bob  Hope by winning an Oscar in the movie<br \/>\n\tSon of Paleface in  1953.<\/p>\n<p>\tIt is extremely sad to  see this era lost forever. Despite the fact that<br \/>\n\tGene and  Roy &#8216;s movies, As well as those of other great  characters,<br \/>\n\tCan be bought or rented  for viewing, today &#8216;s kids would rather<br \/>\n\tspend their time playing  video games.<\/p>\n<p>\tToday it takes a very  special pair of parents to raise their kids with<br \/>\n\tthe right values and  morals.<\/p>\n<p>\tThese were the great heroes of our childhood, and they did teach<br \/>\n\tus right from Wrong, and how to have and show respect for each<br \/>\n\tother and the animals  that share this earth.<\/p>\n<p>\tYou and I were born at  the right time.<\/p>\n<p>\tWe were able to grow up  with these great people even if we<br \/>\n\tnever met  them.<\/p>\n<p>\tIn their own way they  taught us patriotism and honor,<br \/>\n\twe learned that lying  and Cheating were bad, and sex wasn&#8217;t as  <br \/>\n\timportant as love.<\/p>\n<p>\tWe learned how to suffer  through disappointment and failure<br \/>\n\tand work through it. <\/p>\n<p>\tOur  lives were drug free.<\/p>\n<p>\tSo it &#8216;s good-bye to Roy  and Dale, Gene and Hoppy,<br \/>\n\tThe Lone Ranger and  Tonto.<\/p>\n<p>\tFarewell to Sky King and  Superman and Sgt. Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\tThanks to  Capt..Kangaroo, Mr. Rogers and Capt.
