\nMaryland casinos brought in $86.8 million in revenue during October, a 30 percent increase over the same month last year and a new record.
\n\tLast October \u2014 before the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore came on line \u2014 the state’s casinos generated $66.4 million. Not including the Horseshoe, revenue at the state’s other four casinos fell 3.1 percent year-over-year.
\n\tAt the Horseshoe, the state’s newest gaming venue, revenue was flat from the month prior. The South Baltimore casino saw $22.5 million from both table games and slot machines in October. That was a slight uptick from the $22.4 million the casino saw during its first full month in business in September.
\n\tRocky Gap Casino Resort was the only gaming facility that saw a revenue boost year over year. Rocky Gap’s October revenue grew 11.2 percent from the previous year to $3.79 million.
\n\tThe Horseshoe’s biggest rival, Maryland Live! Casino, raked in more than half the gaming revenue for the state with $50.3 million last month. That marked a 3 percent decrease from its October 2013 revenue.
\n\tRevenue at the Casino at Ocean Downs also saw a 2.7 percent decrease from last October. The facility generated $4.12 million revenue last month.
\n\tHollywood Casino Perryville saw $6.1 million in October revenue, an 11.1 percent decrease from October 2013.
\n\tThe previous monthly record was $82.4 million in September.<\/p>\n
