\nWas in AC Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday, I could not throw to save my life. While I am at a casino throwing the dice, I hear a dealer saying to a guy at the end of the table to my right, "they go to school to learn to shoot like that." I ignored him, since I felt like a school dropout. Where was he on Wednesday when I shot 19, 20 and 21 in one series? When your ego takes a beating, you have to get up off the floor and go shoot again, albeit on a different day.<\/p>\n

Phil, you are right about one thing—you will have days like that and they stink. Rose and I have learned that it is part of the journey and you live with it. Trust your throw it will come back as you demonstrated. <\/p>\n

\tHad it been me I would have said something to lighten the mood. Say something like "I don’t know about any class, but I have read a book and probably paid too damn much for it." Or instead of saying "it" you might insert the words "BS." This will usually will get a laugh. <\/p>\n

\tWe all can learn a lesson here–you will have bad sessions, bad days and\/or bad trips. It happens. Remember this is a journey not a destination and we will win in the long run.<\/p>\n

I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago. The casino I was in had very soft felts. For the first two nights, I could not throw to save my life. I tried changing sets, I tried changing trajectory. I tried changing backspin. I was so frustrated that I wanted to stand straight out and just fling the dice. But I knew that if I stuck with what I was taught, it would come back to me. And it did. On night 3 I rolled a 44 and a 53 back to back. So don’t get discouraged. Practice what we teach you and in the long run, you will win. <\/p>\n

I did not say banything because they were talking to each other. Nothing was directed at me. I did not want to open up a can of worms. I was not discouraged. I have been doing this long enough to know that every time out is not a winner. I was frustrated because I could not shove their remarks down their throats. The next day I am sure I would have heard the sounds of silence.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
