The hotel cost $2.3 billion dollars to construct and open.  It is a financial steal.  And on the bright side, we don&#8217;t have to rent out space in other hotels to teach the class anymore. How about we turn the top half or more of the hotel into condos and time shares to fund the casino and reduce the overall maintenance burden? I fear Revel is too big for AC in this day and age with all the competition from other states.  The purchase price for Revel is low enough for that venue.  But I believe the monthly costs are too big a hurdle to overcome regularly to make it a going concern.<\/p>\n<p>\tShowboat is a possibility but no one has been able to make it work so far. I think the reason they are getting rid of it is to make a run at the revel.  And they can&#8217;t have more then 4 casinos in New Jersey.  I think the way to go is to market it as a &quot;WE WILL DO ANYTHING YOU NEED US TO DO TO MAKE YOUR STAY PERFECT&quot;.  Atlantic City needs some customer service.  Bring in the games that people like to play.  The very bad bet blackjack games that are fun to play.  Blackjack switch and free bet blackjack and run 21.  Offer 100x odds in craps.  Single zero roulette.  Make it cozy and comfortable and inviting.  Pool tables in the lounges and lobbies, Thats my thought! That is a mere 45 mins from where I am.  And for a weekend trip, I could drive up to where the Concorde used to be.  Now, granted, these casinos are still being built, but if you have been paying attention (as I have) to some of the specific language of the law, the language is clear that whoever is granted a license MUST have their hotel operational in 2 years.  <\/p>\n<p>\tThe motivation for the granting of licenses in New York is to motivate New York players from going to CT or Atlantic City, and keeping those dollars in New York.<\/p>\n<p>\tI look forward to going back up to the Catskills again.
