\tRenting a car in Las Vegas is cheaper than just about any other top destination in the nation, according to a survey from CheapCarRental.net.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe website, in a survey released last week, compared car rental rates for 50 popular destination cities in the United States via Kayak, a travel metasearch engine.<\/p>\n
\tLas Vegas came in at No. 47, with an average daily rate of $27 \u2013 nearly two-thirds less than the $76 cost to rent a car in New York, the most expensive destination, according to the survey. Conversely, the price in Las Vegas was $2 a day more than the least expensive city in the survey, Orlando, Fla.<\/p>\n
\tThe survey spanned from June 2013 to May 2014, according to CheapCarRental.net. Each city\u2019s main airport was chosen as the pick-up and drop-off location. The survey established the price of a five-day rental about one to two weeks prior to the pick-up date.<\/p>\n
\tThe website noted costs tended to fluctuate heavily for some destinations. For example, on some days during the offseason in Miami (No. 44), travelers could find a car for less than $20 per day; during the peak season the cost was $60 or more. In New York, the price ranged from around $60 to $110 per day.<\/p>\n
