\nWhat happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas \u2014 unless you’re talking about a couple of very famous people who get involved in a very heated spat.<\/p>\n
\tActor George Clooney and casino mogul Steve Wynn traded barbs during a recent dinner party at Botero restaurant (inside Wynn’s Las Vegas Encore hotel), and while neither man denies it, exactly what happened has turned into a he-said\/he-said debate.<\/p>\n
\tIt started when the dinner was over, and the topic at the table turned to politics.<\/p>\n
\tAccording to Clooney, who spoke out about the incident via a statement distributed by his publicist, "There were nine people at that table. … So you can ask them. … Steve likes to go on rants."<\/p>\n
\tThis particular rant allegedly centered around President Barack Obama and the Affordable Healthcare Act.<\/p>\n
\t"(Wynn) called the president an (expletive) … that is a fact," according to the star. "I said that the president was my longtime friend and then he said ‘your friend is an (expletive).’… At that point I told Steve that HE was an (expletive) and that I wasn’t going to sit at his table while he was being such a jackass. \u2026 And I walked out. There were obviously quite a few more adjectives and adverbs used by both of us as I left. Those are all the facts. It had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with character."<\/p>\n
\tBut in Wynn’s version of events, the A-lister was the one with character issues, as Clooney supposedly "threw a hissy fit.\u201d<\/p>\n
\tWynn told the Las Vegas Review Journal that that’s when talk turned to "Obamacare," and he spoke up.<\/p>\n
\t"(Clooney) didn\u2019t like that either," Wynn said. "I think my discussion about the Affordable Care Act was the straw that broke the camel\u2019s back."<\/p>\n
\tThe entrepreneur then accused the actor of having a had a few too many.<\/p>\n
\t\u201cWhen he\u2019s drinking, he considers himself a close personal buddy of the president," Wynn told the publication. "Clooney\u2019s fun to be with when he\u2019s sober. If you have a chance to drink with him, you want to get there early, and don\u2019t stay late."<\/p>\n
\tIn both versions of the tale, Clooney was the one who walked out.<\/p>\n
\tAccording to E! senior editor Marc Malkin, in the end, it wasn’t nearly as dramatic as it all sounds.<\/p>\n
\t"No fists were thrown," he told TODAY. "It was just an argument with two rich white guys. They’re arguing about politics. They’re going to be fine."<\/p>\n
