I set it up and took ~100 practice rolls to get used to the rubber wall and not the cardboard box. It took me four rolls to get both dice to stay on the rig. The first two rolls one of the dice bounced over the back wall and the third roll a die shot off the front end like a cannon ball!

Once I started treating the dice like my girlfriend and not my wife, it went a lot smoother.

My first recorded session was better than expected. 41 hands with only 19 completing the five count. I did have three 20+ hands.
My SRR was 6.27 with an average hand of 8.99. I must be doing something right.

I was amazed at the difference the new dice made. The edges was so sharp I thought of shaving with one of the dice to see what would happen.
The way it grabbed the felt was something else, a die would bounce off the back wall and make a 90 degree turn.

I plan on talking a class but my vacation time for 2014 is already taken, so I’m shooting for 2015.

The next item in the budget is buying the smart craps software.

A throwing station is in the works, but right now I simulate the rail by throwing over an eleven inch stack of books.

In the mean time it’s watch the DVD, re-read the book and watch the videos on youtube and practice, practice, practice.

Rich in Mich

Replies:

Posted by: Finisher on March 25, 2014, 11:47 pm

RFink13 Do you have the gripper to use in practice . For now forget your SRR, how many HW, etc… Learning to throw on that station is your ticket to the party. When I got mine home I thought it would drive me crazy! Dom told me "learn to shoot on it." Not much sympathy, just knowledge of the needed tools to win. I know the juices are flowing, that’s good. But..(always a but) don’t get lost in all the "stuff". Grip, breathe, focus, exact target spot, slow swing w/eyes still on the target. Pipless dice would be good, but setting quickly is needed. What the dice are actually doing is more important at this time. The rest will come.

Last thought…when you get frustrated, always reach out. This group has been awesome for assistance on any level. LISTEN. Keep your notes….have fun.

Shoot with passion…or pass the dice to me!
