\nLast night played in a tournament was in 14th place, <\/p>\n

\tI am UG+1, the table is 7 seated. Blinds are 6-12K ante is 3K, I push 68K all in with A5 off. UG+2 thinks about it for a while and calls with 44. Everybody else folds. The button says he had A5 as well. The 44’s hold up.<\/p>\n

\tDo you think I made a mistake pushing all in?<\/p>\n

How did your stack compare to the other seven?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I was small stack on my table, but the other table had 2 players lower than me.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I always try to consider my stack equity. While it is generally sound to be aggressive when you are short ten big blinds or less, I also keep my equity in mind.<\/p>\n

\tFor example, if I was short with 50k but every other stack at my table was 200k or more then they are much more likely to call my push. I therefore would try not to push too weak of a hand. However, if the stacks were 100k to 150k they will think harder about risking one-third to half their stacks toward the end, so my weaker hand pushes have much more psychological value.<\/p>\n

\tThat is my take on those situations.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
