Velotta Las Vegas Sun <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vegasinc.com\/business\/gaming\/2013\/nov\/21\/nevada-gaming-regulators-ok-ballys-acquisition-shf\/\">http:\/\/www.vegasinc.com\/business\/gaming\/2013\/nov\/21\/nevada-gaming-regulators-ok-ballys-acquisition-shf\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\tState gaming regulators quickly approved Bally Technologies\u2019 $1.3 billion buyout of Shfl Entertainment in a pair of special meetings Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\tIn back-to-back meetings, the state Gaming Control Board recommended approval and the Nevada Gaming Commission gave the final OK in unanimous votes. Shfl shareholders approved the deal Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\tBally expects to capitalize on Shfl\u2019s expertise in table games. Shfl\u2019s signature products \u2014 automatic card-shuffling machines \u2014 are key components to the company\u2019s catalog of games.<\/p>\n<p>\tBally officials said the acquisition would result in annual cost savings of $30 million.<\/p>\n<p>\tShfl has 350 Nevada employees and 900 worldwide while Bally has 1,300 in the state and 3,400 globally.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe deal was first announced in July.
