Slowly my confidence dwindled as I tinkered with this and that and my dice would occasionally look perfect as I expected each throw to be. ( I showed my kids some of the things that helped me and their throw looked better than mine ). This lack of confidence and the tinkering took over at the casino table, my mind was adjusting each toss, not just doing what came natural from a good practice, but rolling over from my inconsistent practice.
Yesterday morning I realized that my problem was overthinking the toss. I picked up the dice and went through the toss without thinking about each step and bam, my dice were glued together, hitting together, landing within 2” of each other, exactly the way my dice had looked when I returned from Vegas.
Trip report. I assume from the previous confession that you would expect a great report from my visit to the casino yesterday. That did not happen.
I took the dice 3 times yesterday morning. Each time going up on 4 numbers and the a 5-2,4-3,4-3 seven out
Yesterday evening I threw 2 times with the exact same results. 5 throws and I never repeated a number.
The good thing is I still have my confidence even though the results were bad my dice looked good and I’m ready to go back and try again.
As Dom says WE PAY SMALL DUES WAITING FOR THE GOOD ROLLS
TommyC

Replies:

Posted by: Finisher on November 16, 2013, 5:47 am

That was one big thing that I hated when I took the class and the 5/2 or 3/4 would roll and the instructors would say that it was a good 7 .Knowing that I would loose the dice if I were in a casino.
Relax it will come soon .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Posted by: Dr Crapology on November 16, 2013, 11:56 am

Tommy, hang in there. We go thought this type of thing from time to time. Believe us when Rose and Doc say we have all done these things. We have seen your throw and it is very good. You are correct not to over think what you are doing. Let the knowledge that you learned from the classes and video come through. Remember we are in this for the long run. That’s why we have a bank roll.

If we were to make a suggestion—and we will—watch your betting. You may want to limit yourself to 2 or 3 numbers rather that the 5 you mentioned—especially during your first roll of a new session at the table. When you see you are doing well you can go to more numbers. Also don’t bet much at all on the chicken feeders. Just a suggestion that may help. Be patient. As Finesse says you don’t want (expect???) to make money on these CF’ers, you want to make money on yourself and other control throwers.

Look forward to seeing you and your group in that little Oasis in Northwest Louisiana next month.

Alligator Rose and Doc

Posted by: Timmer on November 17, 2013, 2:22 am

"Finisher" wrote: That was one big thing that I hated when I took the class and the 5/2 or 3/4 would roll and the instructors would say that it was a good 7 .Knowing that I would loose the dice if I were in a casino. Then I settle down get over the shakes remember all my practice, remember the things Mr Finness said to me, short backswing, straight forward ,listen to what I say and quit being so hardheaded, (I love that one and have heard it many times before in other walks of life), Doc and Alligator Rose telling me to land my dice a little further away from the wall,
NFR and BTK saying reach out like the Heisman ,don’t drop your thumb, make sure your dice are square to the table.
