I have been practicing at home for 12′ tables, and I am seeing improvement. We played in AC yesterday and I had my personal best of a 39 on a 12′ table at the Roman place. The practice, 5-count an GTC betting has turned my craps play around so I am not losing as much, and starting to have winning sessions. Why anyone would want to try playing Craps without learning the GTC way is totally beyond my comprehension.

How far should I place the receiving station away from the throwing station to practice at a 14′ table? My thought is to measure from the back wall of the receiving station to the center of the throwing station 9′. That gets me 7′ from the back wall of the receiving station to where the center of the stick position would be, and then another 2′ past that for my shooting spot. Are those calculations correct, or am I throwing from too far away?

Thanks again for all of the help from GTC.
— Chevy

Replies:

Posted by: sevenout on April 29, 2012, 6:17 pm

That measurement sounds right for a 14 foot.

Another thought, since you will be in Vegas, why not walk across the street where I’m sure there are 12 footers?

Posted by: Dr Crapology on April 29, 2012, 6:29 pm

Here are my calculations. For a 12 foot table (144 inches) the center of the table will be 72 inches. I allow 18 inches for the stickman and a little extra room between the two of us for a total distance of 90 inches.

For a 14 foot table i simply add 12 inches (half the 2 foot difference between the 14 footer and a 12 footer) for a total of 102 inches.

This has worked successful for the beautiful Alligator Rose and I.

Hope this helps.

Hope to see you in the casinos soon.

Doc

Posted by: SectionEight on April 30, 2012, 8:29 am

Doc is right, just add a foot and you should be fine. Some people get caught up in the 12 foot vs. 14 foot thing. It’s not that much different and there’s some great tables out there that are 14 feet. Of course, ideally, we would want to have 12 footers….but if theres a great 14 footer around with some good conditions, scoot that extra 12 inches….on a 14 footer, SL1 is just the same as playing SL2 on a 12 footer.

My two cents…

Kind regards,
SectionEight

Posted by: Finisher on April 30, 2012, 7:13 pm

SE Welcome hope you had a great time and did not gain to much ### .I know you eat a little more on those trips.
Good Rolling. 😀

Posted by: SectionEight on May 4, 2012, 7:17 am

Actually lost about three pounds on the cruise….the metabolism is very high right now. 😀

Posted by: Finisher on October 17, 2012, 4:34 am

For DannyP

Posted by: Guest on October 18, 2012, 3:19 am

"Finisher" wrote: For DannyP

Thank you.
