\nThis morning I was at a not too crowded table in AC. It was about 7 A.M. when I arrived. A few minutes later, an Asian guy came to the right end of the table. I was at SR1. He appeared to have about $9000-10000 in $500 chips. When I left about an hour later he had about $45000. He had $100 on the pass line and $500 behind it in odds as often as he could. The place numbers had from $100 to $300 on each number. He was betting the field at different times with $3000-4000. Four times, different shooters threw 12 and snake eyes. This guy’s rack was covered end to end with black chips. He kept taking the $500 chips and putting them into his pocket. Still, with just the $500 chips in his rack it was three quarters full. I had good rolls of $23 and 16. When I rolled a hard eight, he had $500 on it. It was difficult to concentrate with this guy yelling "Moolah, Moolah," over and over. He was making a lot of it. It felt like there were two games going on at the same time, the Asian dude and the rest of the table. I am not used to seeing players in AC with that much.<\/p>\n

This sound a little like March Madness in Vegas with big sport gamblers at the tables. Kind of exciting but stressful. I was betting 6 and 12 and they are betting $100-500. I must admit it is a little unnerving to see people that have no problem betting incredible amounts of money on other peoples throws. I seven out and leave $50 on the table and they leave $5000.00<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Strive to relax at the table and get your focus to the point where you don’t notice the whales, darkside players or other distractions going on.<\/p>\n

\tEasier said than done, but the distractions in the casino will always be there.<\/p>\n

\tTuning them out will become easier and easier with experience and time spent at the tables.<\/p>\n

\tDon’t allow the actions of others to knock you off of your advantage play game…<\/p>\n

Timmer-I was relaxed in my throw, as I threw well. But, I was also amused how on this occassion Lady Luck sat on the Big Player’s shoulder. It is not that he threw well, but the rest of us hit numbers which he fed off of. My hard eight was not that unusual for me. I throw a lot of 6’s & 8’s with the hardways in the mix. I have been doing this for a long time. I was in the second or third GTC class and took first place. If you do not push, bump or shove me or breath alcohol fumes in my face when I am in the act of shooting, I can pretty much ignore you. For the big player to be so lucky as to have bet the field on the two 12’s and two 2’s and not when the 5,6 or 8 was throw was exceptionally lucky. He was betting $3000 to $4000.00 on those rolls.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I remember back in the 70ds I was on a good roll and I looked up at the bets that were out there . Like over 2,000.00 and I had the pass line with 3.00 on it and thought if I roll a 7 will these guys kill me .I got real shaky . I did roll a few more numbers and they were all happy.Even today big money does that to me but not as much .
\n\tI think I bought in for 50.00 and that was a lot for me then .Now I bye in for 200.00 so am still a low roller that gets heat some times .

Finisher, I had that problem about being nervous but it was when I was younger and at archery tournaments. I got over it and it doesn’t bother me any more weather I’m shooting archery or craps. Nothing really rattles me much anymore. I have learned not to get involved with anything but the task at hand. 100% focus on myself and no one else or anything. Hell, I don’t even hear the words out of peoples mouths when I’m shooting. It comes 2nd nature to me now to tune people out. My wife says I do it well.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
