Since going blind in late March she requires that the dice come to her set with the 3’s on top. When in front of her I tell her how many clicks to get them to the 3-V set. Believe me the box and the floor personnel watch her like a hawk. She must set them pretty quick and hit the wall.

She hit 6 points today en route to the fire bet. Albeit they weren’t 6 different points. She hit the 6 three times along with the 4, 8, and 10. In fact she threw a total of 33 times with 5 4’s and 5 10’s. There was one come out 3, one 7, and one 11. She set the point of 9 for her fifth point. Now 9 is her signature number. In fact I had the 5’s and 9’s hopping on the come out.

What happened next I think was orchrastrated. The Pit Boss had been coming by and keeping a close eye on her toss and giving me the evil eye as I kept telling her left die 1 click then right die 2 clicks or whatever number of clicks she needed to get the dice to the 3-V. She never missed the back wall, IN THEIR FACE.

However we got a stick change. She set the 9 as I said before. The stick passed her the dice. Next thing you know he has his back turned to her and as she grips the dice and sets to throw, he leans out with his left shoulder and back facing Lois. He leaned clear into the center of the table. He did not lose his balance, no apology, no nothing. She sets the dice down and waits. I rub her back tell her it is OK and just breath. Nothing doing 7 out.

I told the stick guy sarcastically Thanks a lot "Is $50 enough for you?" to which he say "Yeah, sure is."

That idiot had $2 on the fire bet per the players. She had made the dealers almost $20 with her $1 on the pass line because she had the 6 points and a come out 11 and a come out 7.

I think he was sent in as a cooler. She should have purposely thrown the dice off the table. That break in the action while waiting for the same dice might have calmed her down more. She could of done that too because in the middle of the roll one time the dice looked like they were on the runway at the airport. As she threw them they steadily gained altitude going down the table. As the 2 people at straight out saw those dice rising they opened a path just like the Red Sea parting and the dice cleared the rail just as if they were clearing the outer markers at the airport. The whole table laughed so hard!

Of course we colored up and left.

Bottom line we will never tip at that casino in the future.
Clark

P.S. Once her eye is healed, we have hopes for a cornea transplant. Probably sometime in 2014.

Replies:

Posted by: The Breeze on July 17, 2013, 4:29 am

Here’s to Lois who is one awesome Lady. Some of these dealers see it as an opportunity to score points with the bosses. There is just such a guy at a casino in AC. This guy comes in and if someone like us is hot he immediately changes the rhythm of the game. He starts talking to the shooter. Commenting on shots. Telling them to hit the wall even if that is not an issue. Putting his body in the way. The stick in the way. Cautioning against going over the line. You name it, he does it. He is not liked by other dealers. But he does his job and he does it well.
Last time we had a class in AC I was at SL1 and another student was at SL2. He was having a very good roll. The next stick change comes and out of nowhere this guy appears. He had not been at the table earlier and it was not a shift change. He was somewhere else in the casino and they brought him over to the craps table . I said "Oh, S%^#@ to myself. I told the shooter real quick to stay in the game and ignore anyone talking to him. The stick slides the dice over to the shooter and the stick says very loud, "Hey, we have a live one here", "So, where are you from, buddy?". The shooter made eye contact with the stick man and I knew it would soon be over. Maybe two rolls, and one warning later (to hit the back wall) and the shoot was over. The stick man had done his job.
We colored up and left.

Posted by: Agame on July 17, 2013, 4:22 pm

Jesus, nice way to sweat the money. If that was actually unintentional, then that stickman is a Darwin Award waiting to happen. Good of you to not just explode at the table and curse everyone out. Nice way to keep your composure. I’ve heard of shooters losing their tempers for much less.

Did you ever get to max odds during those points? The way I play, I wouldn’t have reached 10X odds.

Posted by: Pointman on July 17, 2013, 6:33 pm

First and most importantly, I wish you and Lois the very best. Your both going through tough times while still keeping a positive outlook. So many people forget that a medical situation is hard not only on that person, but the caregiver too.

"Lois and Clark" wrote: The stick passed her the dice. He must have control of them or when they are out of his control, he must keep his eyes on them at all times. From your description, it seems the stickman clearly broke game protection protocol. I’m surprised the Pitboss didn’t say anything to him. That would be his (Pitboss) responsibility.

Posted by: Guest on July 17, 2013, 7:44 pm

The stick clearly pushed the dice to me. You are correct that he had no eyes on the dice and Clark said the suit was keeping a close eye on me (right there as I was throwing).
