\tI’m in Vegas and playing Double Deck BJ. After the first shoe, the Supervisor comes over and said the VP of Operations wants me to only flat bet. I had only played one shoe and was slightly up. I asked why and she said because that’s how we want you to play. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?<\/p>\n

I hope you don’t mind me answering since you wanted to direct this to Dom. But Yes, I know of people this has happened to. <\/p>\n

\tFlat betting is one technique that the casino uses to stop you from playing BJ. In essence, they have told you that your game is too good and they don’t want your action, in a very nice way. Because of the way you described the event and limited details, it probably was due to your accumulative win. Casinos keep track of winnings\/losing\u2019s per player and per type of game. When your winning reaches whatever their threshold is, they will stop you from playing. <\/p>\n

\tYou’ll have to write this store off for a while. You can probably go back in six months or so if play on a different shift and play unrated. Make sure you note what your appearance was at the time of the flat betting. (color\/type of shirt, pants, jewelry, shoes… yes shoes etc). You don’t want to wear anything like that when you go back. <\/p>\n

\tIf they do recognize you and tell you that you were flat betted, just say you must have misunderstood, you thought it was for that day and leave. <\/p>\n

\tIf this place you played is a chain store, don’t be surprised to find your Flat betted at the other places too. If your still on your trip, I would not play in this chains casinos at all. (No Craps or nothing if you plan to try to go back in the future to play BJ) <\/p>\n

\tOne other thing about Flat betting. The casino is telling you that they don’t want to kick you out. You probably play other games and their ok with that. They just know you have an advantage in BJ and are unwilling to give you a game you can beat.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Thanks Pointman. That’s good advice. I didn’t feel any heat up until they told me they wanted me to flat bet. It caught me off guard, because I had never had any heat. I have read that they are using computers to determine if you’re playing with an advantage and I think this is what happened to me. They were very nice, and didn’t provide any reason, only that is how they wanted me to play. Unfortunately, it was a chain, a large chain, so that knocks off some pretty good games, but I’ll just kick their #$%*@ at other games. \ud83d\ude00<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
