I have not swung a club since last year. I started slowly with a nine iron but I was hitting the ball terrible. Took a liitle break thought about my swing Began swing and adjusting. I was soon in a groove. I moved up to the 7 iron. Then the five iron. I was hooting the ball spectacularly. I then went to the driver. Of you golf you know this is a different swing plane. I took my time and began hitting that well.
I had purchased the extra large bucket which is likev120 ball or something like that.
By this tome I was getting fatigued. Made some good shots for being first time out since last fall. I was surprised that I struck the ball reasonably well.

Practiced 3 games of bowling on Wednesday. 2 decent games and 1 good game. It was a new house for me so it took a while to find the line.

Played another 9 on Thursday and it was great. I played much better than Tuesday and was a lot more consistent. On the last hole, dogleg left par 5, I had a good drive but a little too far left. Tried to draw a 3 wood back to the fairway but did not get any draw. Hit it straight, a bit too far right and the angle left me with tree limbs to navigate. It was only 105 to the green but I could not use a wedge because of the tree limbs. I hooded a 7 iron off my back foot and it was a thing of beauty. The ball stayed nice and low under the tree limbs for a bump and run right on to the green giving me a 15 foot birdie opportunity. Lipped the bird but got my par. A nice way to end the round. I also remember using a choke down pitching wedge for a 60 yard pitch. That is a tough shot for me because I usually hit it too easy or chili dip it off the toe. But this time I remembered to take a regular swing playing it forward in my stance to hit it on the up swing. It went high up in the air and landed softly on the green about 3 feet from the hole. It was a pretty shot to watch and felt good hitting a shot I have trouble with most of the time.

Went to practice bowling again today at another house I had never been to before. Synthetic approaches with a bit of humidity so I had to use the bowling shoe slide to avoid sticking on the approach. But it was fine once I used the slide and I threw the ball pretty well.

I love practice. It is a lot of fun be it craps, golf or bowling.

Posted by: brothelman on March 17, 2012, 12:43 am

Do you know that pencil lead will work better than slide and that ashes work great when the shoes get wet.

Love the seven iron trick, i carry three wedges so i do not have to hit half wedges unless i mess up.

My favorite shot is a driver just out of the ruff.

skinny is the well rounded man.

Posted by: The WoW Man on March 17, 2012, 1:22 pm

That’s the reason we moved to Florida, so we could play golf all year.

Catch you later!

I just got home from the golf driving range.
