\tDom and\/or other instructors:<\/p>\n

\tWould you please give us a brief idea as to how the classes have evolved now as compared to past classes? <\/p>\n

\tIf I took a Refresher now how would it differ from the ones I took in the past? What would be covered?<\/p>\n

\tI know it would be a great class—just like the past ones were—- but what can I look forward to?<\/p>\n

Great question!<\/p>\n

\tStarting our class at 8:30 Am and going to what ever, usually 5:00 on Saturday and 4:00 on Sunday is a change from the old format. This has given us the ability to meet all the students needs. I know that the instructors worked harder and longer because of this, but it is all about the students and they didn’t mind.<\/p>\n

\tAnother major change is that we are going to stress betting as much as the throw. To me betting is just as important. People can learn the throw but they will continue to lose if they don’t bet properly. We got a tremendous response on the comment sheets about the way we are teaching betting now.<\/p>\n

\tWe are also giving out a manual. This manual is in a three ring binder so that sheets can be added to it. We are going to have a refresher manual an advanced manual<\/p>\n

\tI believe these are the major changes. Others can comment<\/p>\n

Sounds like GREAT idea coming . I did not take the old classes but know that they have gotten better each year threw this site.

The changes that have been made to the GTC class are all about what the students need. This is an investment made by people who are living in a very difficult economy and we want to make sure people get their monies worth.<\/p>\n

\tShooting and the ability to shoot the dice properly is one of the first things we ever wanted to teach at GTC and we need time to do this in a class. This is why we decided to start earlier and extend the day a little longer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\tDom has always been a sticler on proper betting and he wanted to make sure we added a few segment on this subject. Lectures and a session at the craps table talking and demonstrating the proper way to bet were big hits at our recent class in AC. <\/p>\n

\tI think as we progress with this new format students will benefit tremendously.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

As said above, more concentration on betting was one big change that was greatly appreciated by the students. In fact, the refreshers gave up their last practice throwing session to continue learning about come betting. Several were convinced in the end about the advantages of come betting that they didn’t previously believe.<\/p>\n

\tThere was less lecture time so there would be more throwing time.<\/p>\n

\tThe Friday night Meet and Greet was much shorter in terms of introductions, and students were given a chance to ask questions.<\/p>\n

\tThe Friday Open House was also very successful. Several people came to register, and many came to ask questions and meet the instructors, the latter coming and going throughout the day.<\/p>\n

\tEveryone was very busy during the two days, and in fact, there was little time to post on the AC web site.<\/p>\n

\tI mentored a refresher group, and they said they learned a lot, even those who were taking it for the second time.<\/p>\n
