\nSince I joined GTC and began this journey an ongoing mantra of GTC instruction has been "use the hardway set because it protects agianst the seven". I sat down at the table with a pair of dice and a piece of paper and tried to work it out.<\/p>\n

\tI’m not going to throw a CIII chart at you but describe what I did. Using the hardway set and assumeing an on axis throw <\/span>I came up with the following.<\/p>\n

\tHardway set or All Sevens Set – 4 ways to make a seven, (3,4), (4,3), (5,2), (2,5), no craps numbers, 12 box numbers<\/p>\n

\t3V set and 2V set – 2 ways to make a seven (3,4), (4,3) , 1 craps (1,2), 13 box numbers<\/p>\n

\tThis would imply that the All sevens is best for the comeout and the 3 or 2 V is better for hitting numbers and protects better than the Hardway set since there is only two ways to make a seven. So how does the Hardway set protect against the seven?<\/p>\n

I haven’t done the numbers like you did, Butcher, but I believe it protects more if one die is off axis.<\/p>\n

Hi Butcher. If your dice are on axis most of the time (and that’s a big if for most people), then the 3V or 2V are good sets. The only way to really know the best set for you, or any individual, is to keep track of your numbers during practice and plug them into Smart Craps. The program will tell you which set is the best one for you. The hardway set is the best protection if you are not always on axis. One click of the die will not hurt you.<\/p>\n

i believe that they told me that your on axis should be around 75 % to use the 2 and 3 v.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Your axis percentage needs to be very high to use the 2V or 3V exclusively. I believe that this can change session to session. After one complete roll, (by that I mean a point cycle) I might change from 3V to hardway. <\/p>\n

\tBut people I want you all to know that it is never the set. Changing sets can help you in your thoughts, but it is the grip that will cause the problems and most times during a session, if the session is going bad changing the set will not make the session a good session. <\/p>\n

\tJust like a ball player that has hit 300 for his life time can have a bad game going 0 for 4, so can we<\/p>\n
