The day before I like to relax and visualize myself playing in the casino. I don’t usually practice on the day before I leave because I have done all my practice and need to rest. It gives a chance for the muscle memory to kick in during the visualization. When I go to sleep, I will play a game in my head where I make my bets and progressions just as I would in the casino until I fall asleep. Of course in my head game I do not seven out.

Once at the casino I will have a short warm up in my room just before going down to the tables. I focus on my grip and arm movement. I watch the dice in the air to be sure they are together and rotating on axis. I get my rhythm down so that I can hit the spot on the bed that I am trying to hit. Then I am ready to do battle. Once at the tables, I am prepared and all business.

Posted by: Timmer on February 19, 2013, 11:39 pm

Great question, Getagrip!

I agree with Skinny’s wise words. I like to stick with my normal practice routine and not change much prior to a trip.

However, what I will do is adjust my betting practice and intended strategy to match the rules and odds allowed at the casino(s) I’ll be visiting.

I like to have "planned my work" beforehand to then "work my plan" in the casino.

For me that is the easiest way to go on autopilot at the tables.

 😎 😎 😎

Posted by: Goddess on February 19, 2013, 11:57 pm

Since we play at one casino, we don’t have to adjust anything to conform to the rules or odds.

We do throw on the bed every morning before we go down to the casino. It gets our muscle memory going, and I like to watch the components of my toss to see if they are doing what I want. If something is off, I continue to throw on the bed until I am happy with the way the dice look.

Goddess

Posted by: Dominator on February 20, 2013, 12:45 am

Love the question!

I do rev up my practice. I practice 4 X a day the week before I leave. I will do a practice routine where I throw into a bowl. The next routine is throwing SL and SR. I do this because I do not know what position I will be throwing at. It will depend on who I am playing with.

The last two sessions are with chips and a buy in. I will keep a running total of wins and losses through out the week. This reinforces in me that I can always come back from a loss.

Now at night while I am in bed, instead of counting sheep, I am counting my rolls at the table. I visualize huge rolls, and people cheering. High fives are all around me. My roll continues until I drift off to sleep.

At the casino as I am heading down to play, I see those rolls again and my arm will actually start swinging. Weird I know, but it works for me

Dominator

Posted by: Goddess on February 20, 2013, 10:50 pm

Does Laurie jump out of the way when you are visualizing, or do you have your own slot machinge next to the bed?

Goddess 😆 😆

Posted by: brothelman on February 21, 2013, 7:22 am

I practice the set i plan on using when i go so i am quick and on the ball.

Posted by: The Griz on February 22, 2013, 1:33 pm

Dom,
Your tip reminds me of the visualization I do on my way to the table, and, yes, I’m sure that the security camera in the casino elevator catches some odd poses of me in there… they must think I’m a spastic with the arm swinging out and me smiling! 😎

Posted by: Mr Finesse on February 22, 2013, 4:48 pm

The first thing I do is go into my file and look at my notes on the casino I am going to play in.
