I know that the distance of "back wall" to where the dice are in general, should be at least 7 ft away ( assuming training for a 12 ft table). However, what I’m not certain of, is the setting for the throwing rail/ station it self. I just know it has to be near 7 ft away, but can’t figure out the best setting for simulating rail to center of back wall, or if I want to practice hitting other flat areas of the back wall. I hope this description or situation I’m describing is clear.

I noticed at the Primer, the throwing stations were marked by blue tape on the floor, properly measured, and then another tape mark measured for if you were throwing left handed or right handed. That’s the type of measurement I’m looking to find out. Thanks.

Replies:

Posted by: Dominator on February 16, 2013, 2:10 pm

Arvinn, I am really sorry, but I don’t understand your question. The back wall of the receiving should be 7 1/2 feet from the center of the throwing station if you are practicing for a 12 foot table and 8 1/2 ft if practicing for a 14 ft table.

The markings we had on the floor of the class room were to reposition the rigs when they we moved, this way we did not have to keep measuring the position.

I hope this help and answers your question.

Posted by: Rival on February 17, 2013, 8:23 am

Mr. FInese nailed it right on the head.
