Leaving from Murray Ky to go home from a retirement party, decided to hit the mens room. Glad I did.<br \/>\n\tThe bridge over Kentucky lake got hit at about 8 pm on Thursday, and I was the third vehicle back from the span that dropped out of sight.<br \/>\n\tThe first vehicle , a dodge Dakota, with a couple aboard, came within a couple of feet of going in.<\/p>\n<p>\tIt will be interesting what daylight brings.<\/p>\n<p>\tWith the bridge out, our commute to Murray will now take 1.5 hours instead of 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>\tLife goes on, and the journey continues<\/p>\n<p>\tStealthman<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h3>Replies:<\/h3>\n<div class=\"migrated-reply\" style=\"border: 1px solid #eee;padding: 15px;margin-bottom: 15px;border-radius: 5px\">\n<p><strong>Posted by:<\/strong> Finisher on January 27, 2012, 10:42 pm<\/p>\n<div>Looks like the ship held together better then the bridge. Would I be on top of the boat or in the drink!<\/p>\n<p>\tMy wife was ahead of me by a bit, as well as a few others from the party, many got through but two of us had a long trek home.<\/p>\n<p>\tI would think that the span can be remanufactured in a timely basis, since it seems that the supports were not or minimally damaged by the incident. Bridges need care and sometimes municipalities (how do we do spell check?) skip over this as they try to curtail budgets. Not a smart move.
