My darling southern belle, RollTide4Ever, has developed a bad habit of making Field Bets. When she collects, occasionally I’ll tell her, “You’ll remember that one Field bet you just won, in spite of losing the next 3.” She knows I’m right, but 3 or 4 rolls later, she’s got another Field Bet on the table. If a 2 or 12 is rolled, she kicks herself if she wasn’t on the Field. She knows the house edge.<\/p>\n
Even if she has a Come Bet on 6 or 8 and it’s rolled, she’ll be more upset about losing the Field Bet than she is happy to win the Come Bet.<\/p>\n
Sure, I could insist she bet the way I taught her for the last 3 years (not so long, when you consider Covid ruined 2 years of it). But here’s the thing. I am glad she’s confident enough with her grip and throw, so that she is now at the table with me. So, I’m not going to ruin that by being fussy or nagging.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, it’s a stupid bet. At least she doesn’t make a Field Bet and then hop the 6 and 8, which I’ve never mentioned to her. Maybe I should. Along with our Come Bets with Odds, all together that might wear her out. And a hedge, while softening the blow of a loss, it also lessens the victory of a win.<\/p>\n
I don’t know. So, how do I help her kick a bad gambler’s habit?<\/p>\n

That will make up for when she rolls those numbers and then she will be happy when she hits the field . It looks like a great bet and that is way it takes up so much of the table space .<\/p>\n I always think about what a dealer said one time . HE SAID he would be happy if he could win 2.00 on every roll . I would bet that she would be happy to win the money it takes to replace that field bet on every roll and then some .\u00a0<\/p>\n The first thing my wife asks me is if I am betting the hard ways or the crap numbers . When the dealers see her coming they let me know so I can at least bet the hard ways for a dollar . Sure, a person betting this way MAY see some pay days but, long term, will lose based on the house edge on the bets. Are they setting them and delivering a thoughtful throw?<\/span><\/p>\n The COME Bet is taught here and is best used on thoughtful shooters rolling BOX numbers.<\/span><\/p>\n On my recent Las Vegas trip I walked up to the table and rolled six numbers in a row. They included three Points being established and three points being rolled to win. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Thats three COME Bets in less than ten minutes. <\/span><\/p>\n There was only one other guy at the other end of the table. He took his winnings and walked away after I made the third point. <\/span><\/p>\n I should have too but stayed on wanting “more fun”. Of course my first round at the table is always my best. The longer I stay can not always be good.<\/span><\/p>\n I never try to roll Sevens or Craps on the come out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I think of it like this. If I am rolling Craps numbers, it’s no different than rolling Sevens.<\/span><\/p>\n This means there is something wrong with my grip, wrist, whatever. It was a long roll and even the DC players were vary happy . When the wife came to get me the whole table frowned and all said so . The place betters and the Don’t players . I needed up winning ONE come bet .All together I had like 17 come bets going during that roll . I have said for a long time that win I get to were I throw repeaters I will become a come better . I do make come bets but I am not just a come better for now .<\/p>\n On a other side I had a session that I rolled 3 times and a guy was betting across . He would take down the hit\u00a0 every time . When I 7nd out he had no money in play . This happened on all 3 of the rolls I was on just the 6 and 8 so made a little but he made 15 during\u00a0 that session . I lost my place bets . All 3 and left . No repeat bets at ALL during those rolls . I did throw every box number .
