We live in central Texas and as many of you have seen on the news, Texas has really been hit hard with 5 storms in the last 8 days that have brought very cold weather with snow and ice.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
We never get weather like this in this part of the country—not in the past 18 to 20 years or so.<\/p>\n
We have been lucky in that we have have electric power, however we are without water.\u00a0 The entire water system is broken down in central Texas.\u00a0 We did fill up the bath tub and several large pots and pans.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
We can’t take a shower and are barely able to brush our teeth.\u00a0 We also collected a bunch of snow and are letting it melt for extra water.\u00a0 So we are good to go in the water department.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Many people in the city have no electric power or water. So we considered ourselves to be be in pretty good shape.\u00a0 We have plenty of food to last about another week to 10 days before we will hit the grocery store.\u00a0 The whole episode is expected to over in the next 2 to 3\u00a0 days when we will have temperatures well above freezing.<\/p>\n
