He is also an archery instructor. He and I were talking about the angle of the head when you eye your target. He said that if he was shooting the bow and arrow his head would be totally straight looking at the target and level. Now as I get older I have not been able to get my head totally straight looking at the target although I have practiced some trying this. Shoulders are still squared. I think the more level you have your head the straighter your dice go straight to the target. Try it and see what you think!

Thanks for the post!!

Rose

Posted by: Cotton Lob on December 19, 2020, 11:25 pm

One final point to make in this discussion about posture is that you will keep your eyes on the landing zone until the dice have landed while ignoring everything else that is happening at the table. Your arm will be suspended reaching out out at the point of release. Everyone else at the table will have their eyes trained on your dice at the other end of the table and your eyes will be fixed on the landing zone with your arm still extended. Am I correct in my thinking?

Posted by: Dr Crapology on December 20, 2020, 12:51 pm

Absolutely!!! Both items you mention are most important. We would also suggest that as the dice gently roll off of your three fingers you hold your grip until you see the dice land on the table. This way you will not be opening your hand–getting a better back spin on the dice.

Thanks for posting to this outstanding thread.

Rose and Doc

Posted by: CliffM1 on January 1, 2021, 3:31 pm

Rose and Doc

I have been playing around and I have not noticed any big difference with my head position.
