I answered it and thought you all could learn from it:

Dom.,

I’ve read both your books. I’ve seen the graphs that talk about what edge a person has over the game, based on their SRR number.

If your guys SRR is high and you guys are masters of throwing on axis, wouldn’t it be better for you to play on a “crapless craps” table and hitting repeater 2,3,11,12 come bets or place betting for those same numbers (along with the 6 and 8 of course), and throw the “yo set” or some other set designed for making those numbers? I understand the house edge is up there On those bets but so is your guys SRR and axis control on targeting numbers and reducing the seven, also that those would no longer be “one roll ploppy bets”?

Thanks for your time,

Jason.

Hello Jason

Regardless of what my SRR is and my edge is, that is really not important to your question. What is important is your ROI. Lets put it this way, if you have an edge of 6% when you are throwing the dice, (I am using 6% to make the math simple. 6% edge would be great!) and let us talk just about place bets – The House Edge on the 6/8 is 1.5 % and the edge on the 5/9 is 4%. The house edge on the bets you are talking about is much higher, but let’s stay here.

If you place the 6/8 you make 4.5% on your money and if you place the 5/9 you make 2% on your money. Your ROI is better by placing the 6/8 – 4.5% versus 2%. Now even better, if you are a come bettor and take just 1X odds the house edge is .87%, so with that 6% edge you are now make 5.13% on your money

That is the way you need to look at all the bets you make, where do I have the greater ROI

Dom

Replies:

Posted by: Dr Crapology on September 10, 2020, 10:16 pm

Dom you are right on. The key is the ROI (return on investment) is much better with pass line / come bets. If you take even more odds (say 5 times odds) your ROI is even better.

Rose and Doc

Posted by: Preacher on September 11, 2020, 10:29 am

I have liked the 6 to 1 payout on 2 and 12 as points on crapless craps. A win covers a lot of working bets. However, giving the House a 5.38% advantage on pass line and come bets is expensive.

Hi all I got this email yesterday from a student.
