I have to tell you I am glad I made it to Las Vegas four times since January 2019. I never imagined we would be in this position now. \u00a0I had been throwing dice since 2014 when I decided to take the Primer Class January 2019 in Henderson. I arrived on a Thursday and left the following Tuesday. <\/span><\/p>\n

I was traveling solo so I made the most of it and played all Downtown and a half dozen of the top rated Casinos on the strip. Managed to arrive to class on time at the same time. Made a lot of money for my level of play. (notice I didn’t use the word gamble) \u00a0<\/span>I had to remind myself to sleep and eat. Lived mostly on tacos on Fremont street. \u00a0The place is open 24\/7. I also enjoyed the prime rib and breakfast sandwich at the El Cortez. <\/span><\/p>\n

My wife and I\u00a0are lucky to have plenty of casinos on the East coast that I can reach in a days travel when not in Vegas. I threw dice in the Casino more than ever in 2019. And that doesn’t include my practice sessions on the old hollow door at the house.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our trip in October was tied in with my wife’s business and was paid for. It was the busiest I have ever seen the place. It was like spring break times ten. We saw “Las Vegas the Show” which was outstanding. We stayed at the MGM because it was free.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course we made it up to Fremont street but it was tough playing on the tables with the huge crowds.<\/span><\/p>\n

We always fit in a couple of new Casinos on each trip. Our trip in February was no different and we had an\u00a0outstanding time. We spent the afternoon up the street from The\u00a0Fremont Experience at a neighborhood type Casino where the locals played with dollar chips. \u00a0I have never seen anything like this before. Security and Suits kept a constant eye on the table. Lots of smoke in my eyes until they watched me shoot and they started to make money. \u00a0Security surrounded my end of the table and after some commotion threw the young guy next to me out. \u00a0I looked over at my wife with\u00a0disbelief and shook it off while continuing with a long\u00a0roll. \u00a0We all made money and had a fun afternoon. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I heard about a Casino on the south end where there is some good Craps shooters. <\/span>We will check out for Craps on our next trip.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yea, me too Goddess. It will be a long time that casinos, concerts, sporting events … you name it.<\/p>\n

I think we’ll get there quicker than we think. \u00a0Folks are getting antsy and hey, we’re all smart people (though my IL governor doesn’t think so) and if we’re not, then there’s something to say for natural selection!<\/p>\n

Seriously, I’m ready to play, if I have to wear a mask, so be it. \u00a0I played both Sat and Sun before IN shut the casinos. \u00a0I used my glasses to scratch an itch on my face, went to the men’s room often to wash hands, do business, wash hands, wash glasses, wash face, go back to the table. \u00a0Not a crazy amount extra, but we can really all get back to business with some reasonable precautions. \u00a0If you’re at risk, then do what you have to do at your level of increased risk. \u00a0We’ll get there!<\/p>\n

I have a cousin who went out from TN to teach in Utah. \u00a0She’s had some serious battles with Cancer, like you Goddess, and yes, she’s taking many extra measures until there’s evidence to do otherwise, but many can get out sooner. \u00a0We were supposed to do a huge reunion at my cabin in NC in September. \u00a0I doubt we’ll do it as she’s a key to the whole thing (she’s going to bring my grandmother’s china that made it through the huge earthquake when she was living in AK until last year). \u00a0We adjust, we move on. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

I guess I’ve said it enough, but I’m ready to live again, and did drive down to NC to do some work here. \u00a0Looks like the casino nearby is going to have a soft open by invite very soon. \u00a0I haven’t played there quite enough, but if Hammond does that, I can hopefully get an invitation.<\/p>\n
