\tI imagine you are getting lots of emails right after the class last weekend. Well I’m going to pile on too with my story.<\/p>\n
\tI focused my activities since I got home late Sunday night on practice, practice, practice using the receiving box and the gripper. I expected to wait a month of practice before going to the casino. I kept practice sessions to 20 to 30 mins give or take, and usually got 3 or 4 separate session each day, separated by a few hours. <\/p>\n
\tAfter today’s 2 morning practice sessions I decided to go to a local Casino with the intent of just doing the 5Count on other players to get practice on that. <\/p>\n
\tWhen I walked in from the parking lot I saw a table in front of me where stick left was open with about 6 or 7 other shooters there. I planted myself on stick left and watched. <\/p>\n
\tWell … the 3rd shooter qualified the 5 count so I started to bet the Come way you taught us. I was up 85 when he 7-nd out. When the dice came to me I rolled a 7 on my 4th toss. I didn’t feel nervous, the dice just kicked out and the 7 showed.<\/p>\n
\tAnother shooter qualified the 5Count and I got right back on playing what you taught us. The shooter that had done well before had another good roll. Two more shooters later it was my time to shoot again. I made about 6 points and had 3 good length rolls during that. My delivery was smooth and just like the practices. My $400 starting bankroll finished at $910, a $510 winning session using small units.<\/p>\n

There is a rule that a player may not cross the centerline of the table when throwing. The.reasons i have heard are twofold. First, it allows for an advantage by closing the distance to the back wall, the second, is that it’s a security measure to prevent someone from snagging chips from in front of the stick person while their head is turned following the dice. Whatever the reason, i have rarely heard it being enforced in the places I play, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be an issue. <\/p>\n \tMaybe the instructors will have something else to offer, but maybe when you’re throwing, try sliding over an extra inch, or two, when you’re at SL1. But if that doesn’t correct the issue, might i recommend giving SL2 a whirl. My preference, I actually like SL2 more than SL1. I don’t feel as cramped in relation to Stick and the distance to the back wall. Also, SL2 on a 12′ table is the equivalent to SL1 on a 14′ table, regarding distance. Finally for me, although I have gotten way better at it, sometimes, I have a tendency to throw with a bit too much Oomph. We always thank the person who tells us not to go over the middle. Along this line if one or both dice do not hit the back wall before the the pit critters can say anything say something like–"darn it the dice should always hit the back wall." Or words to that effect. <\/p>\n \tTrue story, in Reno one time the pit critter told doc that if one or both dice did not hit the back wall it would be a no roll. Doc responded "Ok, but if this happens and a 7 is rolled I expect it to be a no roll as well!" You guessed a couple of rolls later he was watching very closely and one dice did not hit the back wall. Be fore the dice had stopped, he called it a no roll–yelling "no roll, no roll." You guessed it, it was a 7 and Doc kept the dice. Left the table several when I did finally had my 7 out.
