\nSandtrap has been in and out of hospital and rehab since Dec., and he has not been home since the beginning of Dec. He is now deteriorating: He can\u2019t eat or drink without getting aspiration pneumonia, so he has a \u201cpeg\u201d feeding tube in the abdomen; his liver and kidneys are beginning to fail; he has a lot of fluid in his abdomen, causing some difficulty breathing.<\/p>\n

\tAs a result, we had a long discussion with the hospital hospice liaison. Charlie, and I, decided that since these are vital organs for which there is no treatment for him, he would go on hospice and sign the DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order. This means he will be kept comfortable, and we will both get the support we badly need. This was excruciatingly difficult for both of us, naturally. <\/p>\n

\tOf course, we don\u2019t know how long he has. It could be many months, or not. I\u2019m not sure how I am going to get through this, a second time. <\/p>\n

\tAlthough all your prayers have pulled him through in the past, for which we are very greatful, now he needs prayers to see him through in comfort.<\/p>\n

My wife had a brother in law who had the same problems as Charlie and you have our prayers for both of you. His wife missed the last few hours with him but Sally was there when he died. Other will help you I am sure.<\/p>\n

\n\tBoth you and Charlie will stay on my Prayer List. Rob & I think of you often, usually when we’re rolling. We hear you admonish for not being square to the table. I hear you telling me to pick a target landing zone. Please tell Charlie that Rob still talks about how well Sandtrap was shooting the last time they were playing together in a certain AC casino. I hope to roll with you again some day. Love you two….
