A few weeks ago cruised out of NYC on a ten day Carribean cruise. Table seemed fine, but I was down $800 before I could whistle Dixie. There was another shooter at the table, also a GTC grad. His form was great. He threw the 3V, which I never do. I stay with the tried and true hard ways set. I made some minor adjustments and started to have rolls in the 30’s and 40’s for several days. Lots of mid teen rolls in between. At the end of the cruise, I was up $3500. One random roller was betting black chips on the hardways. Four hundred at a time. I hit a few hardways and I heard from the crew that he made 14K, not all due to me. Dumb luck can help.

What a great cruise. Now that you have made all that money, you will probably get great offers from the cruise line. They’ll want a chance to get that money back! I’m sure you’ll take them for a ride again!

The funny thing is when I checked out on the next to last day, I asked how many points I accumulated. They said I had $8 that I could play on the slots. Fat chance.

A problem with the craps table crew was that they required you to have bet on the shooter before you or they would not let you shoot. I would place one field bet and win or lose and that would cover me. One afternoon I rolled a 43 and shortly thereafter a 46. Not only did I have my white chip on top of my pl bet, but I was betting $10 on the Hardway if it was my point. If I won, I would throw them a red chip. As I fit deeper into my roll and when I already had 4 or 5 hits, I would make nickel hardway bets for the crew. I made quite a few of them and I had one happy crew.
That same night, I returned to the table. A stickman who I had not seen before was on. Since I did not bet on the shooter before me, he did not want to let me shoot. The dealers started to argue with him, saying he has been very good to us and he should give me the dice. The stick begrudgingly let me shoot, telling me there are rules and I needed to follow them. He saved face and I made everyone some money.

Interesting, but making that field bet as the one bet is not a good idea. Make a passline bet and don’t take odds. 7/1 will show more often making that comeout roll a positive bet versus the negative bet on the field. If you win that passline bet you have done your duty.

Tnx. During one of mid 30´s roll, I shot the dice and out of the corner of my eye as the dice were in the air, I saw a craps tourist put down his bet and they struck his hand. I came out of the zone and yelled at him. He yelled back that he had to get down his bet. It was a come out roll and I only lost three come bets which were up. Not a happy camper.

@Philham Table etiquette lot of people don’t know or just don’t care. So nice when you are with a group so you can take over a table. Congrats on some great rolls in the 40’s
