Well, I thought I would take a few minutes to say what a great class we had this last weekend in Vegas.
The students came ready to learn and had a great attitude toward working on their toss. I have to say that each time I teach it also gives me the opportunity to reflect on where I have been and where I am in my own journey with the dice.
I am always impressed with the learning curve that I see between the students on Saturday and the students that show up on Sunday. So much progress in one days instruction is truly remarkable . We had a lot of fun as well.
I know there are so many component to what we teach. So much relates to connecting our body with our mind and trying to get our fingers, hand and arm to cooperate and it an be very frustrating at times. Be patient with yourself and try working on one component at a time. Maybe at today’s practice it is only your backswing and grip. Tomorrow may be your follow through. Slow things down and try to build good muscle memory as you go. I can only stress the importance of meaningful practice as opposed to just going through the motions. Stay focused. It involves a great deal of nuance.
I find this forum to be very useful. I am hoping that some of you newer students will feel the urge to contribute. I know it takes a few minutes, but this forum is only as useful as the people who take the time to use it. Give us some feedback on what you got out of the class and how your practice is going.
We all struggle at times and we can help each other through this process and journey. Welcome to the forum and thanks to all of you who made our last class go so smoothly. Doughboy

Thank you Doughboy and all of you for the great class! Boots and I have been practicing setting the dice and our grip. I’ve been throwing on our bed. We both can’t wait for the practice tables we ordered. I have materials coming to make Boots a bag for an extra 4″ lift. She will still need to use her healed boots :). We look forward to seeing you all next year in the refresher class and letting you know our progress.

IN all honesty, this was one of the best classes we have had in the 21 years of us teaching students to be advantage players!

Yes, I agree this was a great class! Dom, Sandman, Desparado, and Mr Pip really helped me to improve my toss. When I went to the casino I was able to roll longer and make some points. I used the 5 counts and come betting, but think I need to work on my betting more as I did not win any money overall, actually lost a few hundred. In Live play I get a bit confused on what to rebet when I do get paid for a bet…Even tried a crapless table, that betting was interesting too. Thanks again Dom!

As I said in class, there isn’t a betting method that will make you win money in craps. Remember what we say, “The way to win more money is to learn to lose less money!” Using the 5-count eliminates shooters and is not a positive betting method, and come betting has you make the lowest house edge bets which keeps your BR in tack. It is great that you used them, but think about how much more money you would have lost if you didn’t use them.

I edited your post because we do not mention casino names on this forum. We do have casino execs that are members.
I will say that where you are staying might not be the best for what we do. Haven’t played on those tables in awhile but when I did go there I didn’t play. That is probably where the conference is and the reason you are staying there.
