Were do you stand as far as sets go ? I know that it is not the set but the Grp and throw that is or decides the out come along with Luck . I myself change my set during a session on how I feel but usually keep the same set though that roll.
Lately I have come with in 2 numbers for the STA bets . I need the 2or3 or the 11and 12 or just one each of those numbers for a win but still do not change the set . So if you get to were you only need one number what ever it may be do you change your set ? Also what set would that be for what number ?
In practice I vary my sets for each session and record every roll with 2 different dice . I do not change the set till the session is over . So I do have some long rolls and some Small rolls .I stopped doing the SRR thing . It seems that I have been throwing less hard ways .
Good Rolling.

I never change my set. I always have the hard ways: 3’s on top and 5’s facing me. When I’m on, I hit a lot of 6’s and 8’s as well as hard ways.
When I was playing a lot, my rolls averaged in the teens and twenties, with many 30-50rolls, & my longest of 70.
Now that I just moved to MA, I don’t know how often I’ll get to play or get to seminars.

The only time I MIGHT, underlined MIGHT, change my set is on the come out roll if I need to make one number for the ATS.
BUT, I DID NOT do that last night on a come out roll and hit the ATS by making that one number I needed which was aces.
You see you probably have more money on the line than what you have on the ATS so don’t worry about it

Rose and Doc never change their sets–5’s on top and 4’s facing. Like Goddess we too hit a lot of inside numbers–5,6 8,9. We do not press bets until we have at least 8 paydays and then will begin by either increasing our base come bets and in the long run may well “double dip” with some place bets. At this point we are very much ahead for this turn with the dice
BYW—should we make a point and follow up with a come out seven all our odds are taken down and we start over. Should we be double dipping when the old 7 out occurs (place bets are not working) and if we also have a place bet or two we take them down as well and start over. As Billy the Kid says “that come out seven may an indication that your are getting tired so take down those place bets as well.
Very conservative but we feel the correct way to play the game.

Doc, Wise advise! Get in the PROFIT first before pressing as when you are at a table with randoms it takes a good while to get the dice back. I occassionaly do get some asks from the dealer when I don’t make any bet on a random while I’m 5 counting them. “Any bets” I usually say I’m gonna wait a toss or 2 . I’m sure it counts against me on my rating but who needs to go inside on a random and loose it after 3-4 rolls.

Right BC – you do need some lines. One of my lines when they might say something like that is “The way this table is going I wouldn’t bet with YOUR money!”

I wish the world was so simple. I could probably write forever about all the crazy tables out there now and the hoops jumped to get maple syrup out of those trees.
I am so confident on some tables I will have everything working every time I get the dice.
There are those tables from hell that scare me so much that I will play them when empty with only a pass line bet slowing winning the Pass-line until I find a grip or landing that will work. It a challenge and all fun to me if I have the table to myself.
I found a table recently that I will only play sevens for now on. Theres no point to anything else. ( will update you on that.)
This is unheard of in my game. I have never spoken the word seven (7) and have always believed in establishing the point and rolling it within three (3) rolls. Or twenty. LOL
When I first started out I rolled every dice combo possible. I used chips and placed them on the numbers that came up. I then photographed the results for my records.
It gave me practice handling the chips and shooting. You don’t need much room to have a little fun throwing dice in the house. The quality of your practice sessions should at the highest standards otherwise its a waste of time.

@cotton-lob 100% SPOT ON! The more you can make your practice environment the same, or close to, the live environment at the Casino, the easier it will be to transfer the skills from home to the Casino. I have sample dice from many of the Casinos I play. They are not really good for practice as the edges and points are no longer sharp, but, you get a feel for the size and color of the dice. Both will have an effect on what happens to the dice when you throw them.

@chevy I have a couple of dice from the old casinos and they are goofy. No Sharp edges, size is not at all like a new pair of sharp dice.
I have had hot sessions where the dice are swapped out with new after a while and the dice are sharp edged. I know you all know what I am talking about there. You pick them up and yow. They don’t land the same. It is like you are playing on a hard as slate table all of a sudden. The dice have to be lobbed rather than rolled on the one bounce.

That does not look like a hard way set unless it is that I am just getting to old and my eyes are not connecting with Brain . Great Pics .

It isn’t the hardway set

@cotton-lob I 100% agree with you. New dice are what we will see at every table. I like to know what the dice will be at the Casino, so I can practice with new dice which are the same size and weight. The old dice do not react the same as new dice.

I thought that I may need my glasses changed . I can say I have never tried that set in practice or at a real table .
Good Rolling .

I just went to casino and a player was into roll 14 and was on a come out roll . It was the RTW machine so I could see what roll it was . He said that he would wait tell I was ready which I thought was nice . My card did not read the first push in so I said to just go ahead .
He ended rolling 17 rolls and told me that he was just trying to practice different sets and not betting . I am not much for talking at a table even if it is a RTW machine . Then during my rolls he started to tell me all the different sets that he has been using . We were the only ones at the table at that time so no luck of him talking to some one else .
He did throw 5 4s so I told him that and then he started to bet on it . ON My next roll I threw 2 4s which he made money on . All my rolls were short with just to many crap numbers for me to win anything . I did get my bonus money back with those crap numbers making the roll go past 8 .
I then went with Big Casino to real table but lost 110.
Good Rolling.

You don’t need glasses–it is not a hard way set. He would need to roll the dice one turn to the right or left to have the 1’s and 12’s facing left and right.
