Changing my practice surface along with dice sets while shooting dice regularly payed off today. It was the best play here to date all winter.
I walked away a few times before the marathon began. I played four of my favorite slots along the way and found the winning one in the mix. And it was fun.
The crowd was loud with a lot of chatter. The crew was having fun. I was a bit tired when I walked away.
My post game chat on the way home produced ideas for practice until the next visit.
Don’t be discouraged. Practice and adapt.

Cotton Lob,
Glad you had a profitable trip. I have been considering adding some underlayment to my receiving station also to better match true casino conditions. I don’t miss the snow! We are shoveling sunshine down here in AZ.

@bigcasino Sometimes changing the underlayment to match your casinos conditions can mess your shot up. At times if you add more bounce it would be hard to see & hear (smack) if your dice are landing flat. Hence all of that practice can go to waste. Depending where you purchased your receiving, if its the one that Dom sells, that one has the proper specifications for the GTC toss. If you can practice your shot mechanics with a firmer table & then have a change out table to match your casino of choice table conditions that would be the way to go. I have been thinking about this same situation while I’m building my table.

The basic table when I began practicing Craps in my house in 2015 was a $6.00 hollow door on clearance at Home Depot. I bought four, one roll of floor protection heavy paper and one can of spray glue. Heavy floor paper has good bounce to match say Freemont street.
That was topped off with cheap Craps fabric that was six feet long. This setup allowed me to win the money for cost of my first trip in 2019 to Vegas for GT Class. And then I won enough while not in class to take my wife the next month.
( I’m planning on purchasing a full size synthetic table fabric from the Craps table supply in Vegas and cutting it for a couple of hollow doors. The photos appear to match what is in the Casinos now.)
My barn and garage could easily handle a small Casino but the farm house enclosed porch can only handle a door on each end. When I first started I was throwing fourteen feet to practice from a stool into a cardboard paint bucket.
I now have a movable shooting station to practice stick left and right. Dom has seen those pictures.
When Plymouth Rock opened for business I got a hold of sneaker inner sole material sheets that fit perfectly. I was able to repeat the numbers rolled at the house in the Casino. But these Casinos have been changing the fabric and bounce or length of the tables in the last two years. My proven dice set doesn’t hold up to these new table tops. You have to be creative.
Tables in Vegas and the East Coast that I have had terrific long rolls on using my original shooting technique and basic table top are seldom open.
I will miss the pirate house when it changes hands because there is only one playable table there maybe 10 feet and I had it to mostly to myself for three hours including toilet break my first visit. (And they gave me a free buffet when I finished.)
It was a cash cow and I only bought in with one hundred. Dealers made out $$.

Has anyone tried the sound proofing for wood floors ? It is cheep and comes in different types . I think that you need to look at others shots and try to adjust to table .
Good Rolling.

@cotton-lob I agree with you that we all have to adjust our shots to the table conditions at our favorite casino. The GTC toss that we learn at the seminars is taught on a table with less bounce. That table is where I judge my shot performance from & I practice on my home table with a similar bounce. If Dom setup a bouncy table at the seminar’s he would have students leave there with poor shots. Again I agree with you, but we all have to go back to first base (toss mechanics) before we can hit that home run.

That’s what the Advanced class is for… the changing conditions. it really helps you to look for what’s happening to your dice, and what to do when you see it.

@high-arc I agree with you completely. I have been shooting for seven years. So what I am doing now is easier to understand because I have the years and Golden Touch Training with several instructors in class to allow me to adapt.
I recently encouraged my wife to take the Golden Touch Class this past year because I felt everyone needs a good foundation when learning Craps. I trained with many of the instructors my wife would have and knew she would learn from the best. She really enjoyed her class and instructors. It blew my mind when I first witnessed her practice on the porch using proper GTC form.
After class it’s up to you to do the home work and practice. I have a hard surface similar to Golden Touch that I also work in with my practice.
I also make it a point to reread the books Dom put out. It’s easy to forget the fundamentals in our busy life. The stories also get me excited to go practice even if I can’t make it to the Casino.

Thanks guys! Actually on those smaller tables we have do have a bigger bounce. It is always better to go back to basics though.
Cotton Lob – did you enjoy my new book and the videos?

@cotton-lob ditto all that you have stated. We’re all looking for the same thing & that is to better ourselves. That’s what this site is for, to discuss all aspects of the game & learn a little bit here a there from other players. I enjoyed the discussion.
Thanks, High Arc

@dominator Hi Dom, Yes I agree with your table bounce as you stated. It’s more of a controlled bounce as compared to the trampoline bounce that some casinos have. That’s what I was comparing it to when I said firmer. I can see where I could have explained what I meant a little differently.

@dominator Dom , Book design is really nice. I like the layout of the information as its presented. The wife and I keep it by the piano so we can just pick it up. We are working through it . I have not watched the video yet. One of my animals had its way with the DVD payer so I threw it out. LOL
