Craps

[Name Removed] [Name Removed] Casino and Comp Points

Spread the love

I live in North Carolina and so prior to other places I would go here first verses Atlantic City, NJ – both are  a seven hour drive).  My wife is concerned as to my commitment to Golden Crap’s way of playing craps.

I plan on going to [Name Removed] Casino when the Covid “D” slows down and wish to know if I should sign up for Comp Points.

Is this a good idea to do so at [Name Removed] Casinos?

Dom said he is receiving comps at “some” places.

I am very new and have never gone to a casino and shot craps so any info would be nice.

I am practicing on a  table and shooting rig and have been doing so for a couple of months  and have my SORR to 11 – 17 consistency  I still have a couple of months prior to Covid’s slow down…..

Yes do sign up for a players card so that you can get some comps for your play–free or discounted food and room is a real benefit.  If you play enough you may well get the freebies.  It can’t hurt.  Being in GTC should have no effect.

Do try to keep yourself under the radar.  In other words do not do something stupid like noticing someone use the GTC throw and hollering at him/her, “great GTC throw”.  Believe it or not Rose and Doc have seen this done at a craps table.  Simple wait until you and the other player can meet up away from the craps table–preferably over drinks at a restaurant.  Then you can talk all you want.

Lastly, if a dealer or other casino employee should say something like  “where did you learn that throw” we laugh and reply “we have read all the books and been on the internet and don’t think it helps much but it can’t hurt”.  That will usually shut them up.

Yea, sign up for the card.

Explain a little about “why you wife is concerned to play craps the GTC way”

Would she rather have you play craps as a loser if that is the game you like.

John,

Just learning how to use the 5 count on random players that probably don’t have a SORR of 11-17 like you! If you have the discipline to use the 5 count it should more than pay for a course .. My biggest issue is the discipline. I’m working on it though becoming an advantaged player is not easy.

So John have you included some distractions like music people yelling and your wife coming out to get you off the table ? You need to add these things along with 5,000 rolls . Are you putting chips in way of throw like they would be there in a real casino ? This is a Journey . All eyes will be on you when throwing .

If you can keep up that kind of SRR that will be GREAT and your wife will be happy . Just get her to like craps also . A tag team is great .

Good Rolling.

Thanks.

Hopefully, I can start to use the three finger grip consistently.

I have been throwing for ~ 100 days now and my hand is getting strong enough to hold the dice – mostly!

When my wife comes down to where I am set up I throw a 7…….

She is my main distraction.

I have not been to a Casino yet, but we just go the covid booster shot so I plan to go to one soon.  Distractions I do not need but I understand they are there.

We assume the name you are using is your real name.  We would highly recommend that you come up with a “handle”– a name you can use to call yourself on this board.  The casino does not need to know your real name. As you might guess Dr. Crapology and Alligator are not our real names.   Note, on the board, no one uses their real name.

We also assume that you have not taken a class.  I know that Dom is working to plan the classes for the year 2022.  Do call Dom (866 SET DICE) sign up to take a class.  We took the class in early 2006 and it was one of the best decisions we have ever made.  We have been members for almost 16 years and instructors for about 10 years.  Hope to see you in a class soon along with many others who will be taking the class for the first time in 2022.

There is so much more to learn that just the grip and the throw, although these two items are of paramount portance.  Nobody–and I mean nobody–teaches the class like Golden Touch does–using the math and physics of the game to beat the casinos.

Ole-geezer,

As Doc asked, it would be nice to understand more about how you engaged with GTC, craps, and the story as to why your wife is concerned.

I’m in NC part time though by the 7 hour comment, it sounds like you’re far to the east of where I am.  I am roughly an hour from the two unnamed casinos where I am in Western NC.

I highly suggest you give Dom a call.  I talked to him back in ’13 while he was heading to Chicago (my primary residence) for the last class being held there, but unfortunately could not attend.  I bought a table prior to my first class in ’14, and have been on my journey ever since.  GTC is so much more than a class here and there.  You’re already on the forum, but the biggest thing for me is the family we have.  I have made some very dear friends here including my Casino Son from my Primer class.  Doc and Rose, and Tommy C visited me in a hospital near Memphis when I got blood poisoning from one of my dogs before I left for a class weekend.  We’ve shared so many meals together and of course time at the tables together.

Ask any of us anything you want to know.  You can also private message if you want to discuss names and such, but it’s always nice to share questions and answers on the forum.

I hope to meet you at an unnamed casino, or better yet, the next class!!!  Be well.
