Regular craps Or Crapless Craps?

Spread the love

Rose and Doc see this game from time to time and were just wondering exactly what the difference in the advantage to the casino is for each game.  We have always felt that the crapless game is not as good as the old regular game.  Doc did a little research and here is what he found.

Bottom line Crapless Craps is more favorable for the casino.  On the come out roll you can only win if you roll a 7.  The 2, 3. 11 and 12 become points when rolled on a come out roll.  The only win is a come out 7 but you don’t lose on a come out roll of 2, 3 or 12 as they become points.

There is not a don’t pass line /don’t come bet on the table.

The big “hooker” is that the house vig is a whopping 5.38% vs a 1.40 on a regular craps table.  With many versions of crapless craps you only get 2 times odds except on the following:

2 & 12 pays 6 to 1 with a hefty 7.14 edge

3 & 11 pays 3 to 1 with a hefty 6.25 edge

So basically regular craps offers a much lower house edge. (House edge means better for the casino.)

There may well be some Crapless games that offer a little less house advantage, but we think this general rule holds true: when the casino offers a variety of an old established game, the house edge goes up.  Example—6/5 black jack is a prime example.

If you still want to play crapless craps because it is “fun” be our guest.

Look forward to any input anyone wishes to include.

Actually in Tunica the amount of odds you can take in a crapless game is  the same as on regular craps.
