We live in central Texas and as many of you have seen on the news, Texas has really been hit hard with 5 storms in the last 8 days that have brought very cold weather with snow and ice.
We never get weather like this in this part of the country—not in the past 18 to 20 years or so.
We have been lucky in that we have have electric power, however we are without water. The entire water system is broken down in central Texas. We did fill up the bath tub and several large pots and pans.
We can’t take a shower and are barely able to brush our teeth. We also collected a bunch of snow and are letting it melt for extra water. So we are good to go in the water department.
Many people in the city have no electric power or water. So we considered ourselves to be be in pretty good shape. We have plenty of food to last about another week to 10 days before we will hit the grocery store. The whole episode is expected to over in the next 2 to 3 days when we will have temperatures well above freezing.

Sounds great! So glad you are all OK and I am sorry that I didn’t reach out. We are stuck here as well at -1 degree this morning

I have co-workers in Austin, TX and some of them have been without power. Glad to hear you and Rose are ok. One co-worker is north of Austin and has not lost power. We had 83 here today in the Phoenix Valley. Stay safe.
