Spread the love

The wife just got an offer for one in Oct. Last year we got same offer and asked if I could play but was told NO . We told them that my wife does not play craps but that I was the craps player . They just said that was too bad period .

I just think they should have done better then that .

Has anyone else gotten the offer ?

We have gotten offers for a craps and BJ tournaments in the past but not in many years.  Both Rose and I were allowed to play.  Doc does not like BJ tournaments as several players are cut throat and took a lot of the fun out.

Craps on the other hand were fun.  The changes are winning any money since they over 100 players in the tournament.

This happens a lot when one gets the offer and the other doesn’t and the person getting the offer can’t transfer it. it probably means that your wife is a bigger player than you are Finisher …. LOL

The rules of the craps tournaments I considered seemed to remove opportunity for dice control. Each player is assigned to a table of 10 people. You remain at the table for the duration of a specified total number of throws, 100 throws total, for instance. The dice go around the table until a total of 100 throws are made. Not everybody is guaranteed to get the dice. If you get the dice, and the total count is 98, then you only gat 2 throws.

The winner is the one with the most chips. Tournaments like that do not appear to favor the Advantage players.
There is a new craps tournament being assembled that does introduce an opportunity for dice control. It will be a traveling tournament. It uses an interesting concept.

When it’s definite and in motion, I will let you know.

Preacher is correct.  In the craps tournaments that I have played in, each player is assigned a position by a lottery of some sort so you probably will not get your preferred position.  Anywhere from only one player rolling all the total throws allowed to each roller have very short rolls and many players handling the dice.

Just a stroke of luck if you win.  Doc has probably played in 3 craps tournaments and one time actually won $1000.  Normally here is no “cost” to the players to enter the tournament so you can’t lose anything.  I would not play a tournament if you have to pay anywhere from $100 to $500 to participate.  I would not make plans to go only because there is a craps tournament.  However if there was a craps tournament during a time I had already planned to be at a casino AND there was no entry fee, I would probably enter just to have a good time.

I have seen players who when the last throw of the tournament is coming, bet all the chips they have left on the 12.  The 12 hits and they have a big hit and may well, with this good luck, finish in the money.

Just a few thoughts from an old man with too much time on his hands.

They can be lots of fun since you are not out any money win or loose . Also is a great way to get use to bets if you are still new to this and are nervous with the game . I have been in several tournaments with getting the dice once with 3 throws left . so it is not uncommon to not get to throw . It is the luck of the draw .

Is anybody trying to get in the Golden Arm tournament ? It started today and will last till Sunday . You need to be a high roller to enter . They say it takes a roll of 50 or 60 or more to get in . But if you get in you win at least 250.00 . I think it is 16 in and you will not know were you will roll from or even if you get to roll .
