I was using the 5 count it was saving me $. Then the Pit Boss tells me I need to place the minimum bet on every throw. This was a first for me. I was tipping the dealers well. placing pass line bets for them. I told the Pit Boss, there is only five players at the table there is an open spot. He said that doesn’t matter minimum bet. I told him your house your game. Picked up my chips and cashed out. A dealer warned me that it might happen. I believe that revenue must be really down and they are putting a lot of pressure on the staff to do what they can to keep the $$ rolling in.

Take about a real bummer. Guess it was time to head to another casino and if you come back to that casino do so on a different shift. The bit boss on that shift may not be concerned.
However if minimum bet is low enough you might try a minimum come bet with no odds or one times odds. Or make a minimum place bet on the 6 or 8 only, and if you don’t like the situation at all, you can always take your place bet down. Remember you can’t take a come bet down once it gets on a number since you had a 2 to 1 advantage when the come bet was in the the comp area. The odds you can take down since they have no advantage to the player or the casino.
If the dealer or other casino says something about not betting on every shooter we usually say something like “we are just giving the shooter a chance to prove himself as s good shooter.” We know that is just BS but it sometimes works.
We have been to casinos that say you have to bet on the thrower immediately before you or you can’t have a turn throwing the dice. Again make a minimum bet on that shooter.
By the way what city were you you playing in? Please don’t mention the casino name as we don’t do that on the GTC web page.
Hope to see you in a casino in the future. Take care and stay save.

PS–an excellent post. Thanks for taking the time to post.

I have only played at one local casino in my area and they have been fantastic. The crew and the players seem happy to be back again.
Been doing really good at the tables and tipping well. Last trip I forgot to put odds on one of my bets and they let me put them on after I hit the number and paid me on it. I was putting $25 come bets with 2x odds. I thought that was above and beyond what they had to do.
I guess you need to move around until you find a place that appreciates your business.
Take care

Doc is right except for 1 thing, don’t place the 6/8 because as soon as you put that bet up you are in a negative edge. He is 150% right about a comebet and not a passline bet. as soon as you put up that bet you have an advantage over the casino. Even though the comebet has the same edge as the passline, the big difference is that with a passline bet you need to wait till the roll is completed. With a comebet, if the 7 is thrown you are done

I couldn’t stand it anymore and made a trip to Las Vegas and Laughlin. I didn’t have any problems in Downtown LV. I did find a 5$ minimum bet table, most all tables in the old downtown area are 10 or 15. Everyone was wearing masks. 1 thing I really liked is when they wash the dice if they are a little wet when you get them it really helps them stick together in the air. It does seem like they are holding it to 6 players at the tables at most times. one evening they did let a fourth person on the table on my end. She was small and young so I think that may have influenced the decision.
This was the first outing since the February class in Las Vegas. Overall It was pretty positive. I need to work on controlling the amount of backspin. If I get the dice spinning 2 much it seems I get the double pitch. It looks pretty but usually results in 43 or 52.
Doc, your right about that minimum bet on the prior thrower. I met up with a fellow GTC member in Detroit and he warned me about that at the Casino we where in.
In the future if I want to stay on the table I will do the minimum come bet. I was a little shocked by the whole thing. I didn’t see anyone else placing bets for the dealers I’m sure they don’t like it when the boss runs off the only player at the table that is tipping. So out of the 7 casino’s I played at only 1 gave me a hassle.

What spots do they let you shoot from ? I understand that they are not open to craps play 24 /7 any more also . Our host told us that there are different hours for different days of week now for all things .
Good Rolling.

Finisher,
Stick left 1.5 the hook and the end. 3 spots on each end. Good news is you do get the dice back a lot quicker. Bad news is it is hard to find a 5$ minimum table. Laughlin the tables don’t open till 10am.

the same thing just happened to me tonight at a $15 table at a CT casino. The pit boss pulled me away from the table and said I cannot only bet on myself. I said I am placing a come bet out on the other players after five rolls of the dice. He said that is against the rules. I replied show me in the rule book. He replied you are taking a spot when there are other players ready to play. I replied then open up another table. So I left called the gaming supervisor when I got home. She spoke with the pit boss about creating rules outside the casino’s normal policy. At least the casino did listen to my complaint.

I have played at these Ct casinos many times and this has never happened to me. Things might be changing because of the smaller amount of players at the table. My suggestion, keep using the 5-count unless that suit is at the table. If it happens again, don’t argue because you can’t win. Just say “No problem”. Then put out a minimum comebet after the point is established. then wait 4 more rolls and then take odds on that bet.
Also, another thing – don’t say things like ‘I wait 5 rolls”. These casinos are not dumb. They know what we do and that is too specific. Come up with other lines please. One line I use is “The way this table is TRENDING I wouldn’t make a bet with your money. But OK, I understand.” – then do what I said above

I play the CT casinos usually twice a week, last week I was there Wed, Sat and SUnday.
I know you can always catch a dealer or boss that is having a bad day. But, I have had more trouble with idiot players than I do with the dealers. I try and stay focused and do not talk a lot when I play. Other than polite conversation about the weather and things, I try not to talk crap related talk with the dealers.
Its been my limited experience the dealers/boss have treated me good. Saturday I was on a good roll, come bets of $25 and odds of $50. I made the point 5, then a come out point and forgot to put odds on the 5. Of course the next roll was a 5 and I said I forgot to put odds. The box man let me put the $50 odds and paid me on the come bet plus odds. I may have just caught a boss in a giving mood.
ANyway, life is good and the dice are in play.
Thanks

Dice Shark,
Glad to hear it is not just me they are getting on for tying to leave with some of my dollars. I can see the point if the table is full and players are waiting to get on the table. Makes sense they would want to see action on every bet. But in my case the the table wasn’t even full it was early in the morning and no one was in line to get on the table. I will continue to play the way I have been taught and if they give me a hassle about the minimum bet I will either thank them and cash out or place a minimum come bet. Like I said these are large corporations with some whopper of loan’s to pay back so I can understand they want to make every $$ they can.. Unfortunately for them I have learned to be an advantaged player and I won’t give that up.

What was the min. in Laughlin ?
Posted by: CliffM1 on July 23, 2020, 4:31 pm

Went to my favorite CT casino again last night.
Started with a PSO on my first throw and 31 throws on my second hand. I threw 3 more times two in the teens and a 6 hand. Started the night with $300 and ended with $700, $400 profit. Before GTC I would have been excited about doubling buy in, I still am, but I have raised the bar a little. I was able to get on a $15 table on a weekday as opposed to $25 on weekends. This helps preserve the bankroll on the other rollers.
How all is well in your world, talk soon.

I love winning, no matter how small. It is just funny how, before the Vegas Class a big win for me was to double my buy in. Now because of the GTC teaching and all the practice, I am setting higher goals. But a wise man once told me that winning is the most fun. I am very happy to walk away from a table with the casinos money.
Thanks

i sat and thought the conversation with the pit boss and recalled I stated: I am betting on the other players after a few rolls – Dom I am very careful in the casinos. When asked where you learned to throw like that, my response – I watched another player do it here last week.
Always tip the dealers and never had any issues until Tuesday- played again on Thursday with no issues and left with a profit.
