I just hit my 20,000th documented roll on May 1, 2020. That’s exactly one later from my first May 2019 Primer seminar.

Just great. Are you willing to tell us what your last 5000 rolls SRR was?

Dom, Here’s My SRR
5,000 rolls 244 sevens = 20.49

That is great .

@high-arc, is that all sevens, including come out sevens?
Posted by: High Arc on May 20, 2020, 1:03 am
HardNine, Come out sevens are not included. With my practice session I usually roll anywhere from 80 to 100 rolls per session give or take a few. I work a lot on form & muscle memory. I start each dice possession until I seven out, then I start my next roll so on & so on. In between each roll I do a dry run. No releasing of the dice. I use mirrors to check my back swing, side view & follow through.

Great practice exercises to be sure! The change up likely keeps your concentration level very high.
However, you can’t state a SRR of 20 if you don’t include comeouts. SRR by definition includes every roll and every 7, otherwise it’s a NCOSRR (non-comeout SRR) 😉 which doesn’t exist.
Keep up that great practice routine.

HardNine is right, every 7 needs to be counted when you want to calculate your SRR. You are not playing a game when you are trying to calculate your edge

Thanks for the correction Dom & HardNine. I have had come out sevens counted on my past 15,000 rolls. My last 5000 rolls I didn’t count them, but I don’t remember why I stopped counting them. I will make the correction. I guess it was a rookie mistake.
Thanks High Arc

Do you use the seven set on the come out or the hardway set? Either way, great numbers!!!
Posted by: High Arc on May 20, 2020, 11:53 pm
ShowMeTheMoney,
Thanks! I use the hard way set.

ShowMeTheMoney,
Thanks! I use the hard way set.

Exactly – when you are calculating your SRR – use the hardway set. Practice your throw first, then decide that the next “X” amount of throws you are going to record for your SRR

Holy HELL I was about to ask DOM for a refund for my last 2 classes if your throwing a 20 SRR 🙂 after 1 year.
Seriously it sounds like you have some very good practice habits. When someone is around I have them do a slo mo video that seems to help. I have been at it since august 2018 and not that high yet. But I count all the 7’s.

Those come out 7s do add up at times . What kills every thing is those point 7s .
Good Rolling.

Hight Arc
I was a first timer in the Vegas feb 2019 class, the one right before the world going nuts.
This is where I am at now:
TOtal rolls 10,500
Pro1 .001%
PRo2 .92%
PRo3 .00%
SRR 6.54
I started tracking my numbers by month. I use smartcraps and start another player every month. So I input each roll twice, once in the total rolls and once in each month. After videoing my throw, it was apparent things were not good. In april I recorded 934 throws and had an SRR of 6.67. In May I made the corrections and I have recorded 500 throws with an SRR of 7.51. Working on my grip and throw has made a big difference. I can see the dice traveling together much better.
I look forward to your updates and good luck when the gates open.
The two Connecticut casinos, in my neck of the woods, are opening on June 1.

@cliffm1, I love your idea of recording them twice. I assume you’re using SmartCraps Roll Recorder. I start a new shooter periodically, and have recorded every roll since 2014 in practice, and start new shooter after a class or other perceived milestone. However, one other way to do it is to mark days in or out of the calculation. Not sure which is more effort but it’s an option.
Anyway, sounds like you’re really focused and able to see the tweaks needed. Here’s to hoping that it all translates to live play!!! Go get ’em!

Looking for some education.
I use the roll recorder and smartcraps program. I just ran a simulation (MY pro #’s are above, all 3 are below 1%).
In the optimal dice set I got this:
1) unique dice set: T1F3/T5F3 (3V), exp.= 32.6660%
I use the hardway set exclusively. does anyone know what the exp of 32.666% means?
Thanks in advance.

I just started my next 5000 rolls. I will make sure I count my all sevens (come outs), rather than go back to previously counted rolls.

Your best bet for Smartcraps questions is to contact the company that developed the software:
DeepNet Technologies

Main: 519-579-2813
I think that they will be more than happy to answer your question and I’m sure they would be a better source than me. However, the best that I can tell is that I think that the exp of 32.666% is expectation of winning 32.666% of the passline/come bet total, that is, the flat bet plus odds, when your point is 6 or 8 (assumed since that was not specified in the question but is a typical dice set for the Pro scores shown) if and only if you are using the T1F3/T5F3 dice set which is the 3V set. In a side note: in the smartcraps results, there will be similar expectations for the other established points (4 and 10; 5 and 9) as well as the come out – each of which will have their own unique dice set as specified in the results.
As an example, say the passline/come bet is $5 with $10 then the expectation is to win 32.666% of the $15 dollar bet which is roughly $5 for each resolved bet. Now that is an expectation of winning on average for a large number of hands. That is quite an advantage, indeed. Congrats on your skill level – I’m impressed.

Not sure what you mean-
If you roll a 7 on a come out roll do you just not record it as that does not hurt you when playing live?
Thanks
Posted by: High Arc on May 29, 2020, 1:05 am
- @crushit When practicing on my last 5000 rolls, I rolled until I
- 7 out. I did not include my come out 7’s in the calculations which I should have. So I’m starting my next 5000 & will make sure they are in the numbers. All previous 15,000 rolls the come out 7 were
- included in the count.

When you are ready to record rolls, everything is counted. It is not a game being played when you are going to record rolls.
If you want to practice as a game, do a buy-in with some chips and play a game giving yourself 3 turns with the dice and see if you profit from your buy in.
practicing as a game when the comeout 7 is a win, is not like recording rolls. One is practice and the other is just recording everything

I bye in like I do when in casino and also have chips placed like there are 4 other players playing with me at the end were I will be throwing . I also do the pay outs like real action . This will give you some idea how it is to be a dealer . Even tho I do not pay the other bets tho .
I also play with 2 different color dice to see the right one from the left one .Red for right and the green one for left . I roll till I get tired or need to do some thing else . So the throws vary in length from day to day . I may even scrip days before rolling . I started using just the hard way set of 2/2 with the 6s on the side .
I also have the chips for the fire bet but seldom try it . My felt does not have the STA bet on it but some times I record it for a try .
I have looked at many videos on line and am surprised that none show throwing with chips in the way like there would be in real action . I also have radio on for noise .
I hope this may help some .
Good Rolling.

Like that you practice with dice from time to time. We do this so that we do not have to think too much when we are in a real game in the casino. This is good practice to know if your pay off is correct and you automatically know how much you want to press without thinking too much. You don’t want to take too much time to decide what you want to do.
However most of the time we practice without chips simply so that the only thing we are working on is grip or one or more of the elements of the throw–the dice are level prior to the back swing, straight back swing, straight forward swing, etc through the entire throw. All elements of the throw need to be addressed.
