Now I need to note that I am a selfless husband. During the first quarter and then some, my lovely bride has to work Saturdays to keep up with her work. Seeing as she works downtown, I graciously drive her down so that she doesn’t sit on the train at least once during her week. As a matter of pure convenience and so that I have a chance to also graciously drive her home, I head over to IN to wait for her. There happens to be a nice casino there so I dabble at the tables there each Saturday, again ONLY so that I have a shot at driving her back home. 😉
In February, I noted a really great session that I had a table that had given me issue for over a year. That next Saturday, I was still in the really great frame of mind, and my favorite table had my spot open, so I stepped up. The vibe at the table was great, a great crew and box person were there, and I felt really good. As the session developed, I REALLY got into the zone and was absolutely CLOBBERING the 8’s during a 31 roll hand. I also for the first time had my 8 at max odds. Not impressive you say? Well, this venue has 100x odds, so I had two purples sitting behind my $10 pass when I set the 8. 2 rolls later…. BAM!!! I had other numbers going pretty evenly across the box. Another great session.
Two weeks later, I needed to be at an offsite meeting for a few days, and fortunately it was local and near the Old oRchard fielD.
I live close by, so I didn’t stay at the hotel provided by my company. This allowed me to stop by on the way to the meeting twice, especially since this venue was recently allowed to be open 24/7, a first in IL. My notes that I keep were (T1=Table1, as I label them):
3/3 T2 SL2 $25 +948
3/4 T1 SL1.5 am +$105
Pm T2 -514
3/5 am T5 SR1+100
Pm T4 +2420
Net +$3059.
On my first session, it was $25 table and I took hits as they went around. I had a down hand, but then had a really nice hand across the box and hit the ATS with 5/5/5.
The negative session was also on the $25 table, and notably, a guy bought in straight out left with a $20k marker and proceeded to play a very simple darkside game of a combination of $10k no 4 starting on comeout, a 700 hard 4 to offset the loss, and perhaps a single Don’t Come. He didn’t do bad, but between 2 of us, we knocked him off 3 times with 1/3 and once with 2/2. He was a bit obnoxious, so I just left. I wish I’d have known, but our CiSO, who I’d been talking with at an evening reception, showed up looking for me at 10, but I’d left already. Bummer.
On the final session, I started on 14′ but then I saw my spot on the 12′ $15 table and shifted. I had a couple of so-so hands, then busted out with a killer hand with 5 points made (3 to fire), my 5 at $500, $125 behind my point of 6, and decently pressed 4 and 8. From about $400 down, I ended up about 2800 on the hand and 2420 on the session.
My week was what I would consider successful in that my head was in the right place for every session. I was able to quickly analyze what was happening and adjusted. I kept to my betting strategy 98% of the time with a couple of aggressive up front spreads for a couple of the shooters I see here and another area venue and who’d had a very nice hand.
This is a long journey, and with the help of GTC family of instructors, friends, instructor/friends, I’m really happy with where I am. I really need to get my table out of the kitchen (floors were just refinished) so I can practice again! :D….. OK, now it’s out and practicing again during this whole COVID thing…. can’t wait to get back at live play!!!
Cheers, y’all!

When this COVID-19 thing is over, we ALL should be a lot better.

Went to CT casino in the sun today.
Not as crowded as a few weeks ago. Table limits $25 and 6 per table. No plexiglass. Mask for everyone.
I forgot my gambling money at home, so I had $200 in cash and $100 chip. I threw 5 times.
Had one 30+ roll, one 20+, two around 15 and one 4.
Started with $300 and cashed out $600.
I keep to the 5 count and it saved me a bunch of money, so I was able to make some money. It was interesting to see how many times the random rollers were repeating numbers. One or two come bets with 1x odds.
The 30+ roll was my second time with the dice and the thing I like now is with only 6 players at a $25 table the dice come back fast. There were 2 players passing the dice and after the 30+ roll, 4 passed the dice. They came back around and I got a good 20+ roll.
All in all it was a good night.
THanks

Another Sunday at the CT casino. Last week not so good, but this Sunday much better.
I only threw the dice twice, first hand was a 15 throw, but the second was a 42. My best at a casino and the first time I got over 40.
I want to thank Dice Shark for the advice. He has been at the tables several times the last few weeks. It is so nice to play with GTCers at the table. First, they extend my bankroll, but more importantly, they have a different vantage point to watch my throws and point out some adjustments. I am truely grateful for all the GTC help.
Oh, I started with $300 on a $25 table and cashed in just over $1,200.
Another fun day at the casino.
Thanks again for all your help.

Great report. Glad you are doing good and that you were able to hook up with a GTC family member. Mainly we like that the tables are open and at least somewhat back to normal. Hope all of this holds up in time for the October seminar.
We hope to see you then.
