come bets

Spread the love

I placed a come bet and he rolled a 9. The next roll he made his number. The next roll he rolled a 7 and they took my bet off my 9 when it was a come out roll. When I asked why they took my bet from the 9 they said that come bets are always working. Anyone know about this? I think it is the first time I came across it.

Busman, once it travels to a number, the line portion of a Come bet is always working. The dealer was correct.

It’s the Odds portion of the bet that is Off on the Come-out roll. So, say it’s a $10 table, you have a couple of Come bets on the board, shooter throws a 7. You would win on your Pass-line wager (if any) but any$10 Come bets would be lost, but your Odds are returned to you as the line bets are collected by the house. This is normal.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that you may opt to have your Odds working, if you wanted to, by simply telling the dealer that Odds are working on the Come-out. However, in the event a Come-out 7, you would lose both your line bet and your odds.

Hope this helps.

Everyone is correct that Pass Line and Come Bets are always working even during a come out 7 after you have made a point. WHY? Remember when you make a Pass Line or Come bet, the have a 2 to 1 advantage on that single roll of the dice–8 ways to win (6 ways if a 7 is rolled and 2 ways to win if an 11 is rolled). But, only 4 ways to lose (1 way if a 2 is rolled, 1 ways if a 12 is rolled and 2 ways if a 3 is rolled). BUT once you set a pass line point the advantage changes big time to the house which gives a big time house advantage to the casino of 1.4 percent. Since you had the advantage on that first roll, the casino will not let you take down your Pass Line / Come Bet. It’s simply one of the advantage the house has set in stone in the long run.

As Dom says, when a come out 7 is rolled and you have 1 or more come bets up the base come bets is/ are lost but you get all of your odds back–it is like a Christmas present. As Billy the Kid always says if you have a come out 7 in the middle of a roll, that many indicate 7 just might happen again. It has happened to Rose and Doc many times. Remember generally speaking, you have way more on the table in odds (with no house advantage) than you have in base come bets. So if you have 5 come bets up and you roll a come out 7 you get much more back than you lose on the base bets. Then when you set a new Pass Line bet, make a come bet and immediately have a 7 out, you won big time—the win on the come bet covers your pass line bet and you only lose the odds which have no house advantage.

More reasons to do come betting.

We fully realize that if you are place betting and a come out seven occurs you lose nothing and the bets stay up. But if you have a quick 7 out after a pass line bet is set, you lose all the pass line bets. If you were come betting you would have all the adds bets that you had up prior to the come out 7 in your rack.

Ask yourself are in you this craps advantage play for the long run? The answer for us is simple.
