Wow great progress. As you approach the 5K you will notice the law of large numbers kicking and seeing your true SRR.

High Arc,
Fantastic!! You’re the man.
How many of us can come near to that SRR?
Are you counting the "come-out sevens" too?

When determining your SRR you use a hardway set and all 7’s count. There is no such thing as a "come-out seven" when recording throws for SRR.

Greetings High Arc.

I was just curious about how many throws do you make in a practice session.

I tend to keep my practice sessions around 30 or so throws thinking that the quality outweighs quantity of the throws. I am just trying to get an idea if this number is too low, too high or on pace with others.

I would welcome any input from other students or instructors as well.

Keep up the great job on your SRR. That’s Awesome!

High Arc, How much time is spent in your practice sessions? Do you practice daily or do you break it up throughout the week?

I used to roll and record 108 rolls (3×36). After I learned a little, I usually roll about 20-30 times to warm
Up, then start recording results in my practice journal. I usually roll 72 Times (2×36) for a practice session now. Trying to keep my sessions in increments of 36 to help with figuring the srr…

I start my dice practice in the morning around 6:00 am when I have my coffee. At that time I work on my grip using the Gripper for 15-20 minutes or longer. The next phase of my workout takes place on my craps table in the basement. There I take my glued dice and work on my form. Here I work on the back swing and where my arm should be on my follow through without releasing the dice. While doing all this each and every time I use the Gripper while setting the dice. Once satisfied I then release the glued dice and check on my rotation and how the dice land. Again, once satisfied I go through the whole process using the unglued dice. This phase of my workout I don’t keep track of how long or the amount of throws I take. I only move onto the next part of my of my workout when I feel its right. The next part of my workout session I then start to count my throws. Depending on the time as in have to go the work, I usually throw anywhere from 36-84 throws (give or take a few). The pad (grid) that I keep track of my documented throws has 42 boxes in them. So basically I try to do a row at each session. Sometimes when I’m on a good roll I keep it going until I seven out. I use the gripper for this session. Session #2 starts when I come home from work. Usually 5:00pm or later. The only difference in this session is when I start to count my throws, I don’t use the Gripper.

If I can’t sleep I might go to the basement and practice later that evening.

High Arc, that is a very complete practice routine you have. I must make more time for practice. I have thought about practicing first thing in the morning before work. Perhaps I can work a session in at that time also. You have inspired me to work harder at my practice routine. Thanks 🙂

High Arc,
Back in July of this year you were at about half way to 5000 practice rolls,
with an SRR over 12.
Have you as yet accomplished your 5000 rolls?
May I ask what was your resulting SRR?
And if it remained high, how did it translate on the casino tables?

I practice with chips in play as if the table is full . With radio on and pay like in casino . I start with 200.00 and see were that goes .I some times put info in smart craps just to see what it says . Most of the time not that great tho .
Good Rolling . 😀 🙂
